Given that he is giving Real Madrid £350m on terms unknown, its not a preposterous speculation that this not inconsiderable sum might just buy him some influence at least. Who knows, maybe more than influence.

Agreed. But I wouldn't even have sterling in the first place, one of the most overrated players I've ever seen..not to mention he did fuck all today as well.

Been discussing this with my brother earlier on, this summer di maria joined the rags and he played in the world cup final, played in the CL final and getting motm doing so, played his best ever game vs barca last season when every madrid player just kept passing the ball to him (it was the game where he passed out for a minute or so then carried on). He was also in the best 11 last season and his performances caught the eye of the rags and they ended up paying 59.7 mil for a WORLD CLASS player.

Us however want to pay 50 mil for a 20 year old who's not even world class and wouldn't get into any top teams in the prem and Europe starting 11.

We payed about 30 mil for Silva, 35 mil or so for Aguero and now we want to pay 50 mil for sterling. I'm sorry but if we pay 15-50 mil for sterling it's time for txiki to pack his bags and go back to Spain. I'm not even gonna mention all the other world class players that moved clubs last summer for less than 50 mil.

Don't get me started on Barkley.

I agree, the fact Sterling didn't single handedly win a game against a team with a similar points total to us while playing right wingback and then leftback for a 10-man team is shocking.

£50m would be excessive but £30m-£35m is realistic and fair.
