£50m bid

Given it's not possible to look at posts from the "It's Quiet Thread" I can't find the post in which he said it but I remember mentioning before that TH referred to Sterling as the £50m player and going by my post he said it on the 18th May

He posted this on page 55 I think...

It's not something I said, bud. This thread has moved very quickly, so others may have missed stuff.

I am not privy to who the £50m offer is for, only that I stand firm behind the original info.

As others have pointed out, I am wary of posting certain things, simply because it will get lifted.

I can't see any reason why City would not be interested in Sterling if he is thinking of quitting.

So we bid £50m for Sterling 3 months ago? No wonder they've rejected all these other bids so far.

This could be one of those unstoppable force vs. immovable object moments that the internet sometimes provides, but you know what FantasyIreland is saying as a possibility, right? It's an agreement of £50m for Sterling between clubs 3 months ago, with a calendar of face-saving.

City: How much for Sterling?
Pool: £50m and not a penny less.
City: Sure, we think he's worth it. We'll take him.
Pool: Right, okay... we need to look like we absolutely didn't want to sell and put up a big fight though.
City: That's fine, we don't want other clubs to think we'll just run in and pay full price without a fight anyway.
Pool: Also would help us if we found a replacement without other clubs knowing we had £40m burning a hole in our pockets.
City: Unterstand. What do you say to 3 rounds of bidding? Maybe we start at £25m + 5m mid-June?
Pool: Sounds about right, maybe aim to conclude by July 1st.
City: Perfect, we'll talk in June.

Now I'm not saying I subscribe to the fact that that kind of coordination exists, certainly not in that simplified example, but it wouldn't surprise me. And it's an example, as FantasyIreland stated, of a £50m bid for Sterling being placed and accepted three months ago, with a lot of pageantry to follow. That's all.

Well if you bid 50 million in Jan and then after the player causes a bit of trouble and wont sign a new contract it makes sense to go in with a lesser offer and try to get him cheaper, maybe thought Lolpool would just want rid of a trouble maker, meh what do i know though.

In that video box thing, that you see at the top of the page, on BM, before you sign in, I'm sure it was reported yesterday, that we'd had a 50 million plus bid for Pogba rejected by Juve.

Want 70 million, apparently

Yeah but that's dated before his post in the "It's Quiet Thread" by which at that stage he could have been privy to it. He said this a month after the above post;

I would assume a lot of politics in play.

Suarez, was one thing, but this is on a different level.

Liverpool agreeing to sell Sterling to a Premier League rival leaves them at a crossroads. An elite club, or not?

I think Sterling feels slighted, having did what he did, last season.

For him to come to City, it's gonna cost £50m big ones. It's excessive, but the message it sends out, plus the impact on the team, we have to go for it.

Yeah, sorry mate missed the "it's quiet" bit.
From that post,it's pretty clear IMO,that he's pointing towards Sterling.
