£56 for home games

Would you rather pay £35 or £55?

Would you rather watch - Ben Thatcher, Richard Dunne, Joey Barton, Darius Vassell and Georgios Samaras
or
Gael Clichy, Vincent Kompany, David Silva, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero?

What a load of shite!!!!!

Of course you would rather watch the current squad to that of six years ago. However, you go to watch City, whoever is wearing the kit, not because of who is wearing it. The cost of going to a top flight game in this country is scandalous. They have you by the knackers because they know going to the match for most is as an addictive drug as you could take and it's woven into your fabric.

If you say 7000 available tickets per game increased by an average of 15 quid a pop - that gives the club an extra £105k per game which is less than £2 million a season. Just 10 weeks wages for one of our big earners - a drop in the ocean to the rest of the income the club receives from TV, sponsorship etc but crippling to the average working man with a family.

Borussia Dortmund are league champions again, ticket admission is around a tenner. Fans in England get ripped off to fuck because we take it.

Would appear the club are subsidising season ticket prices by stinging the people who have to pick and choose. £43 in north level 1 for Southampton where as for me and my two sons combined it works out at a little over £36.50 with our season cards

Cat A game (which the first home game for the reigning champions surely is, no matter who we play).........what cost were these last season then? I think you will find that these were also near to £50
Fair point. The Liverpool league game was £48 so, going on categories, an £8 rise.

Not as steep as appeared at first glance. However, it is still a 16% increase. What's the current rate of inflation? 4%? Plus, I haven't had a pay rise in over 5 years now. It all adds up. Plus, putting Southampton into category A, simply because of when we play them is a bit strong. If we were playing them in october, would they even be in category B? Ah well; whatever. I've stumped up anyway. Can't wait for it now!

so the Liverpool game (Cat A) was £48 last season in level 3 and a Cat A game this season in level 3 is £51........a rise of £3 !!

I agree that I would go to watch City no matter who is wearing the shirt, and to a certain extent, no matter what the price.

However, I understand what the other poster is saying - it's supply and demand. The demand to go and watch City has gone through the roof, both from tourists, and casual local fans who don't have a season ticket. The supply of tickets has not gone up, so the price has gone up.

It's shit for the loyal fans who can't afford it, and it might even be short sighted in terms of keeping established fans happy. They are running a business though, and as much as it's not what everyone wants to hear, they're doing what any other business would do.

Seems they are raising the prices for single tickets to keep the season ticket prices down. Im all for this.

Exactly this, even taking into account they are only allowed to charge away fans the same price as an equivalent home fan, the rise in profits is neglible in the grand scheme of things.
