£56 for home games

I thought our owner was going to give them away free ? Well it said so on here about 4 years ago. Funny old thing, for the casual supporter, success = pay more.

Season tickets are still very good value though

He probably would have but FFP has put a stop to any thoughts of that.

Cat A game (which the first home game for the reigning champions surely is, no matter who we play).........what cost were these last season then? I think you will find that these were also near to £50
Fair point. The Liverpool league game was £48 so, going on categories, an £8 rise.

Not as steep as appeared at first glance. However, it is still a 16% increase. What's the current rate of inflation? 4%? Plus, I haven't had a pay rise in over 5 years now. It all adds up. Plus, putting Southampton into category A, simply because of when we play them is a bit strong. If we were playing them in october, would they even be in category B? Ah well; whatever. I've stumped up anyway. Can't wait for it now!

so the Liverpool game (Cat A) was £48 last season in level 3 and a Cat A game this season in level
3 is £51........a rise of £3 !!

Yes, and even £48 is an obscene amount of money for a ticket. Something needs to be done about ticket prices in this country.

What a load of shite!!!!!

Of course you would rather watch the current squad to that of six years ago. However, you go to watch City, whoever is wearing the kit, not because of who is wearing it. The cost of going to a top flight game in this country is scandalous. They have you by the knackers because they know going to the match for most is as an addictive drug as you could take and it's woven into your fabric.

Yes it does cost per single visit, but a season card works out to around £30 a match, so as an addictive drug, no it's not that expensive
And what about those of us who don't live within easy, cheap-ish travelling distance of Manchester, for whom a seasoncard is not a realistic option?

What is the club supposed to do, dictate ticket price on how far away a supporter lives?
I'm correct in thinking you're in Ireland. When you arrange to come across for a match, excluding ticket price, how much does the entire visit cost you?

-- Jul 25th, '12, 12:50 --

our season tickets are much better but not much cheaper than their cheapest

Beggars can't be choosers mate. If i lived miles away and was travelling to the odd match on my own a value card is the obvious card to have.

If you cut out the non-essentials (beer, programme, anything from the club shop); around €50-75 for the flight (they don't necessarily stay the same from one trip to the next) into Liverpool, as opposed to nearly €200 to fly directly into manchester. Check the flybe site if you don't believe it (Knock to Manchester).

£12 return coach from Liverpool to Manchester

If I need to arrange accomodation in a hotel, then around £50 per night, over two nights for a sunday game. Not always necessary if I can crash down at a mate's house.

Match ticket anything from low forties to mid fifties £ this season, I would guess.

£10 for a bit of grub at the ground

So, that comes to around anything from £117 to £210. Plus any time I need to take off work; the holidays are fixed at a set time every summer and Christmas and you can't take the odd day off out of them. Not a cheap trip.

I really doubt they will be this pricy every game, they are just taking advantage of the momentum from the QPR game.

That's pretty steep. If it doesnt sell out I won't be surprised

It will sell out easily, we sold out every league game last season even minor games, this is our first league game as champions of England and there will be enough people willing to pay the extra for this game.

and I admire you for doing it
What I'm getting at is, in the cost of the entire visit, ten or 15 quid isn't going to put you off
If you're interested in coming over for the game vs Sunderland on Saturday 6th October, PM me as I'm away for that game. Face value Mister
