Edin isn't good enough

pmsl.

At which bit exactly higuain and Suarez both better players with seemingly similar fees. Dzeko is simply not good enough to be relied upon alongside aguero. Nothing funny there mate.

Hes not good enough yet is the same value as Higuain and Suarez ?? you work it it out fella.

I don't know much about him, but stats and reports look good.

Whilst his personal stats DO look good , it's also worth pointing out that Sevilla were atrocious away from home last season , and only won ONE game ...... that was THE worst away record in the entire Spanish league table !

In the end they only finished mid-table.

Now we've already signed one of their players in Navas , and look to be about to sign another in Negredo ..... but are these players just 'homers'????

Dunno but they are Sevilla's best players.

The most important stat regarding strikers, is goals. After that you look at Appearances made, that'll give you a nuance of any problems he may have had.

Balotelli and Tevez didn't score enough, no one can/or is arguing that but people are overestimating their impact and how hard it would be to replace their primary attribute, goals.

What would be funny is if Chelsea sign Cavani for £58m, we sign Negredo for £24m, Cavani scores 8 goals and plays shit all season, whereas Negredo scores 20+ and is our player of the year. The spoilt brats will then be able to sit down to a hearty meal of their own words, and a side order of humble pie, (before getting back to football manager on the lap top).

But ... just what if its the opposite way around? Would you care to articulate your response should that happen?

Then a 50 odd mill player scores more than a 20 mill player ..:) its whats expected..

win win situation.

No love for Kondogbia?

Darren Bent!! FFS

He hasnt played half a season in 4 years. So even if his record for that period is 1 in 2 (whic it isnt its more like 1 in 2.5) its an unfair comparison.

The same as if we compared Lopes to Negrado - Lopes scores one in one so why buy any striker??

I said this earlier in this thread - we signed Dzeko at a point where he was as highly rated as Cavani currently is. It doesn't always equate that you sign the flavour of the window and it works out straight away.

There's a reason so far nobody has gone near Cavani's release clause ... I thought Paris would but the noises are even they are apprehensive.

Bit of a plug, seeing as I am the editor for this site, but here is a really good statistical peice by one of our Spanish journalists about Negredo.
