I'm fairly confident Real Madrid won't be in for Negredo. I think they'll sign a top quality striker like Suarez or Cavani.

I keep reading this is the man the manager wants so therefore lets get him. Now a few weeks ago when Mancini was sacked and the new holistic approach was being discussed I kept reading that the manager wouldn't be calling the shots anymore on what players we buy. Instead that would be down to Txiki and Sorrano and the coach would just coach.

Which one is it?

Think part of the reason for hiring Manuel was that Txiki trusts his decision making in building a team so they probably work together on building the team.

Personally speaking I don't think anybody on here has a fucking clue what the new approach really entails and how it's going to work. I just think we all say things to justify what's happening behind the scenes and I think it's the same with signing new players. Never heard of Fernandinho and at 35m I would hope he's fucking world class not just a bloody good player. Navas looked fast in the Confederates but if I'm honest I thought his final delivery on far too many occasions was poor, quite poor if I'm honest at the level he's performing at. Now we're interested in Negrego he's all of a sudden become the mutz nutz yet before we became interested he didn't cause the minutest ripple of interest on this forum. I'm not saying they all won't turn out to become good signings for us but at a potential 60m plus for three players who are not classed as grade A players I do wonder at our new holistic approach coming on the back of last summer's transfer disaster.

There's some absolute tools on here who like to say people are acting spoilt because they don't think this signing is good enough. The same people were probably saying how good our business was last summer at the time.

And this motion of think where we have come from is absolute Bullshit and people need to snap out of it. It's about where we want to be in the future and signing the players good enough to take us there, not comparing them to Bob Taylor, Bernardo Corradi & co. As soon as they pull on the blue shirt I will fully support them as all blues will and I will gladly be proved wrong at the end of the season if we win the league / champions league. But if, like last summer, we will regret not signing a world class finisher then I fear for us next summer. If we crash out of the champions league early again and fail to win the title then you people can go and tell the likes of Aguero and Silva that they have to stay for another year because 15 years ago we were playing against York City.

Do we have to sign only proven world class players? No. One world class attacker would of been enough. I also think Navas & Fernandinho will be great signings. Tevez had lost a yard of pace and he wasn't as good as he was 2 years ago. He was however still by far our best attacking player last season and Tevez the way he is now is better than Negredo. Does that opinion make me spoilt? I'd rather have took a punt on a younger player who has the potential to become brilliant e.g. a Benteke than blow £20m on someone who is now at his peak and will never be in the top bracket.
