Are you high or something? Cavani has had just a couple of good seasons. It's your opinion if you prefer Negredo over Cavani. I won't fault you on that, but to see that Cavani is just ok good is just pure bullshit. 104 goals in 138 games is not ok good, it's world class.

it 53 million quid PLUS TAX, PLUS HIS WAGES... HE IS OVER PRICED over rated and not Worth the Money.. OK thats what i Think, its what the people who run the club Think the man who signs the cheques Thinks plus the coach does not want him.... do you get it now!

Actually thats not how it works.

When you hear 53 million, that includes the players wages for the period of the contract. Napoli dont get 53 million. They get whatever his existing contract was worth plus compensation for time left...this could be maybe 25 million. Cavani's new deal with a team could be 5 years at a figure per week that adds up to 28 million...hence your 53 mil.

so your saying transfer fees include wages?? sorry you off the mark

we sold tevez with the add on for 12 or 15 million depending what you read... and got his wage of about a million per month off our wage bill so we got as income of about 24 million for him +/- whaterver.. a mill or 2.

the club (napolie)want 53 million quid for him.. + TAX + his wages.. (obviously the wages napolie would need to pay him the new contract will replace... grrrrrrrrrrrr

plus how many times do you hear.. the club have agreed a fe just got to wait for personal terms to be agreed..

There's some absolute tools on here who like to say people are acting spoilt because they don't think this signing is good enough. The same people were probably saying how good our business was last summer at the time.

And this notion of "look where we have come from" is absolute Bullshit and people need to snap out of it. It's about where we want to be in the future and signing the players good enough to take us there, not comparing them to Bob Taylor, Bernardo Corradi & co. As soon as they pull on the blue shirt I will fully support them as all blues will and I will gladly be proved wrong at the end of the season if we win the league / champions league. But if, like last summer, we will regret not signing a world class finisher then I fear for us next summer. If we crash out of the champions league early again and fail to win the title then you people can go and tell the likes of Aguero and Silva that they have to stay for another year because 15 years ago we were playing against York City.

Do we have to sign only proven world class players? No. One world class attacker would of been enough. I also think Navas & Fernandinho will be great signings. Tevez had lost a yard of pace and he wasn't as good as he was 2 years ago. He was however still by far our best attacking player last season and Tevez the way he is now is better than Negredo. Does that opinion make me spoilt? I'd rather have took a punt on a younger player who has the potential to become brilliant e.g. a Benteke than blow £20m on someone who is now at his peak and will never be in the top bracket.

Your calling me an absolute tool and you posted that

I seriously worry about the level of intelligence, common sense and football knowledge of the common football fan nowadays.

At least there is Fifa and Football Manager to keep them occupied, whilst the real world continues around them.

Alvar....takes me back

I keep reading this is the man the manager wants so therefore lets get him. Now a few weeks ago when Mancini was sacked and the new holistic approach was being discussed I kept reading that the manager wouldn't be calling the shots anymore on what players we buy. Instead that would be down to Txiki and Sorrano and the coach would just coach.

Which one is it?

its called teamwork.. works quite well with football..

I understand that concept fairly well thank you. My point was to do with posters on here that seem to swing from one point of view to another to make it fit into whatever makes them think everything City are doing is just utter perfection. First it was from now on the directors of football will buy players to fit a system and a coach will be brought in to coach so we don't get a Mancini style of management who wants the final say. Next week it's the new manager want's things doing his way and so lets back him to the hilt to give him what he requires.

I'm fairly confident Real Madrid won't be in for Negredo. I think they'll sign a top quality striker like Suarez or Cavani.

Negredo scored 31 goals last season, is he not top quality?

No top quality costs over 25 mill if you don't cost that much you are second rate or shite according to our resident FIFA 13 experts

Ha ha it's laughable isn't it.

I reckon Negredo will prove to be a very shrewd signing should we conclude the deal.

Leaves us money to still strengthen a couple of positions as well.

Marca and other Spanish media are pretty much unanimous in their reporting of the deal struck between Sevilla FC and Manchester City FC.

A caution regarding the reported fee. The correct figure is likely to be around £20m tops.
