The guys a decent player but nowhere near that good. He's been hyped up and everyone's jumped on the Cavani bandwagon when in truth be told he should never ever be getting rated anything like he is at the moment. A couple of good seasons in an attacking free flowing napoli team with good players around him.

Realistically, even in the current market, I would not price Cavani much more than 5-7m more than Negredo. He's certainly not worth anything like 40m more.

There's a huge difference between settling for second best and not being plain fucking stupid. Thankfully Pellegrini seems to have that covered.

Are you high or something? Cavani has had just a couple of good seasons. It's your opinion if you prefer Negredo over Cavani. I won't fault you on that, but to see that Cavani is just ok good is just pure bullshit. 104 goals in 138 games is not ok good, it's world class.

Actually thats not how it works.

When you hear 53 million, that includes the players wages for the period of the contract. Napoli dont get 53 million. They get whatever his existing contract was worth plus compensation for time left...this could be maybe 25 million. Cavani's new deal with a team could be 5 years at a figure per week that adds up to 28 million...hence your 53 mil.

The rags is more balanced, Welbrilliant and little penis know there roles as 3rd and 4th choice, Wellbrilliant can play wide whereas we have 2 target men who will believe they should be 2nd choice and partner Aguero, I rate Negredo but I'm dreading a strikeforce of Dzeko and Negredo(if Kun gets injured.) both decent players but the partnership won't work.

Why

Both are classic number 9's that should be in the box, both lack pace, there basically carbon copy's of each other. a Villa, Jovetic, SES would be a better fit rather than a Gomez, Fred, Negredo.

Who says we will be playing 2 up front next season though? If we play a 4-3-3 Dzeko and Negredo wouldn't both play.

You could always just not play them together. 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 would both be good for a player like Dzeko or Negrado.

Now a few weeks ago when Mancini was sacked and the new holistic approach was being discussed I kept reading that the manager wouldn't be calling the shots anymore on what players we buy. There's some absolute tools on here who like to say people are acting spoilt because they don't think this signing is good enough. The same people were probably saying how good our business was last summer at the time.

And this notion of "look where we have come from" is absolute Bullshit and people need to snap out of it. It's about where we want to be in the future and signing the players good enough to take us there, not comparing them to Bob Taylor, Bernardo Corradi & co. As soon as they pull on the blue shirt I will fully support them as all blues will and I will gladly be proved wrong at the end of the season if we win the league / champions league. But if, like last summer, we will regret not signing a world class finisher then I fear for us next summer. If we crash out of the champions league early again and fail to win the title then you people can go and tell the likes of Aguero and Silva that they have to stay for another year because 15 years ago we were playing against York City.

Do we have to sign only proven world class players? No. One world class attacker would of been enough. I also think Navas & Fernandinho will be great signings. Tevez had lost a yard of pace and he wasn't as good as he was 2 years ago. He was however still by far our best attacking player last season and Tevez the way he is now is better than Negredo. Does that opinion make me spoilt? I'd rather have took a punt on a younger player who has the potential to become brilliant e.g. a Benteke than blow £20m on someone who is now at his peak and will never be in the top bracket.
