Don't mate. Football is a global sport. I'm personally happy for fans from other countries to support our club.

There's a few Barca fans/supporters who have developed an almost rag like sense of entitlement and look down their noses at the rest of the footballing world because they've done it the pure way. It's mainly the younger ones who don't remember the pre Laporta days too well. They're in a for a rude awakening. What goes up must come down ....

You would say that, you're from salford!!!
If you're going to leave the judgement on how good someone is to the people in charge then a forum to discuss and give our opinions on possible signings probably isn't for you.pudge said:I'll leave the judgement on whether he is good enough and can improve to the people in charge. B) Nonsense, simple as. Zabaleta, Yaya even the likes of RVP...
C) Too many different fee's being dropped and at the end of the day no one except for City and Sevilla will know the fee.
Yeah, because when a player scores more than another for a season they automatically become better. Even if he was better than what we have (he isn't), there are better options out there so it makes no difference.
Zabaleta is only 28 now, Yaya's case isn't down to improvement it's down his role in the team being changed and RVP has always been the same player, it's just that he was forever getting injured so he was unable to put a run of games together.
Why's he no better or worse than the likes of Edin?
Also, the idea that once a player hits 27/28 they won't improve is ridiculous. The fact you say Zabaleta is only just 28 proves that. His break out season was the one just passed, at the age of 27. The same age as Negredo....
RVP had his best Arsenal season the year he turned 28, second best at 27.

Fair point! I did stand out like a sore thumb being a blue in rag central.
Thankfully I've moved to Clitheroe where... dammit! Still full of fucking rags!

He isn't any better than Dzeko. His movement isn't as good, he isn't as good in the air, he badly struggles with the simplest of passes, he's ridiculously 1 footed, he's even slower than Dzeko and he won't be playing in a team that caters to his lumbering style of play.
As I've said, RVP never had an injury free season till his final one at Arsenal. Zab is just 28, he has no place in a discussion about players improving AFTER 28.

Although he's entertained me for the past 10 minutes reading through this thread he's had to leave us unfortunately :-(

He said he won't improve at nearly 28, big difference.
And you can have an opinion on a player, but when you claim it as a fact like you have then it becomes a different matter once again.
me neither...can someone summarise ?Robbo. said:Really not being following this thread. Is this guy coming?
Good stuff.LoveCity said:According to Marca today, City's interest is very real and Negredo is #1 striker priority but we haven't made an offer yet. And he is willing to join us if the clubs strike a deal. Sevilla want around £21.5million.
I sarcastically questioned the reason for the thread, coming mere minutes after he scored 4 in his last match.conormcfc said:pudge said:He didn't say after 28.conormcfc said:If you're going to leave the judgement on how good someone is to the people in charge then a forum to discuss and give our opinions on possible signings probably isn't for you.

Yeah, and chances are he won't. Especially when you consider how rare (if ever) it is that a player goes into a better team at that age and improves. It seldom happens. Pirlo is one, can't think of many more.
If you're going to get all petty about it then read my post again and add a mental note of 'in my opinion' to the end of the sentence comparing Dzeko and Negredo.
On another note, I was reading a thread from a few weeks back on Negredo and I'm sure you were one of the posters that shot down the OP's suggestion of us signing him.
