İlkay Gündoğan

I'm sorry, but trying to be objective, why would a bigger club give us first refusal on one of their prized assets? It's not like a Brazilian club that needs to sell to keep the club afloat.

They've got a few good players, not just this kid but if I was doing a deal with them with Edin, I'd be trying to do deal to involve one of their players too, wether thats him or Reus etc. the worse they can say is no, if you don't ask you don't get...

If he has a buy out clause would love to see City exercise it.

We need to revamp the midfield. Gundogan & Fernandinho would be a great start.

-- Mon May 06, 2013 4:58 pm --

If he has a buy out clause would love to see City exercise it.

Borussia Dortmund are scrambling to upgrade Ilkay Gundogan's current contract amid interest from Manchester United.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is a big fan of the young midfielder and has made enquiries about his availability.

BILD says United’s interest has kicked BVB into action, with plans of new contract talks being brought forward. The Champions League finalists hope to keep hold of Gundogan by offering a significant pay-hike.

What, United offering a player more money to move? Such a moral and pure club would never do such a thing! United are trying to pillage Dortmund... Kagawa first (who Ferguson has been unable to get the very best out of as he isn't a kick-and-rush winger), they have made plays for Lewa (but Bayern probably get him), and now Gundogan... I wonder if football hipsters, who are on the BVB bandwagon (last year it was Bilbao, next year = ?), will voice their displeasure at this.

I find it odd how little Kagawa has featured for them. I know he's had an injury or two, but he was the best attacking midfielder in Germany last season.

He's a good enough player to pass as a good/strengthening signing.

But it screams shirt sales, but they can oppose that on the above reasoning imo

He's done jack shit for them and gundogan isn't going to them as he's already re upped or is going to on his current deal. Bild reported that like a week ago or something.. He's going no where most likely

I don't see how any of that is relevant to what I said
