‘Upskirting’ law blocked by Christopher Chope MP

The only reason i can see is due to the possibility of the law being abused. By that i mean people calling every two seconds demanding someone on the tube is nicked because they may have copped a look when they stood up or something. Even then it would be a pretty shaky and weak reasoning.

Or have i got it all wrong and this is just for people getting their phone and going out of their way to be a perv and recording under someones skirt?

Yes it is to stop people taking photos/videos not for having a glance at an arse as someone walks by, the woman campaigning for it had some blokes at a festival taking pic up her skirt and when she reported them to the police (she snatched the phone and ran to the security area at the time) they said they couldn't do anything as she had knickers on so wasn't covered by the present law all they could do was make the men delete the pics.
But to have a bloke stick his hand between your legs and snap pictures must be quite distressing, creepshoting pervs.

For this tory prick to block it is a disgrace imho

It was the harlots fault I tell you, wearing a flimsy skirt.
Now wheres my top hat, cape and surgical bag?

BBC suggesting that he blocked it because he likes new laws to be debated before they are enshrined in law, rather than simply passed in on quiet Fridays in the Commons. Seems sensible really and I'm sure it will pass if following the appropriate process.
