“City in crisis”

The club is certainly at a crossroads, will Guardiola stay ? A number of major players reaching the end of their careers . Player’s brought in who are nowhere near good enough. The hotel and extended stand that need filling and the target audience are tourists who will only come if we keep winning. The alienation of our local support in pursuit of money .

Why is everyone saying were in a crisis? We lost a few games. Guess what, we may not win anything this season. And what? We cant realistically expect to win every season. Players are fucked from our past seasons giving their all, pep is looking tired too. Its definitely draining. Yes we should of invested in summer but its obvious were holding off until cleared of chatges... we will still get knock outs of CL and top 4. So i dont really see a crisis

Let's face it, it's OVER! In a very similar way to all dominant sides before, ours has aged and wilted. We have failed dramatically in our squad planning, and our best players have long gone sour.
KDB, Bernardo, Gundogan, Walker, and even Stones. Everyone of them is either passed it, or cannot play without getting injured.

Across the rest of those who play, there is simply no leadership, defending is an after thought, and the squad is devoid of pace or energy.

Yes there are some eye catchers like Doku and Savinho, but they flatter to deceive and their final product isn't great. Others like Foden and Gvardiol are clearly good players, but get caught up in the mediocrity that surrounds them.

Rico Lewis is not a David Silva replacement, and as much as I admire the energy shown by Nunes, he is a loose canon.

And then there is Haaland, logic cannot sensibly explain to me how any player can score so many goals, but actually be so shit at finishing chances.

All of the above however, are just the symptoms. The actual problem is the management. They have become stale and have failed to adapt the team in good time to avoid this decline.
Sadly it has now gone passed the tinkering stage, and I am not sure Guardiola has the energy or desire to strip this down and rebuild it, and as such I firmly believe he will depart after the World Club Cup next summer.
Fucking hell

Excellently put.
Our buys over several windows have been awful and its made for a very weak squad.
Last week the narrative was still “city have 2 world class players for every position”. We utterly dont. Even our first 11 this season looks as poor as its been for a long time.

Too many fans think they are “massive blues” for not calling out the management, players and owners and accuse those that do of entitlement and being plastic.
Behave.

The owners really DO put us local fans a distant second and they need to be very careful
This no nee season ticket situation in favour of day tripping tourists is VERY short sited. There is an opportunity to get and keep thousands of young blues.
I have a SC, i take my kids alternate home games on my uncles card. If i could i would by them a sc eac. I cant.
In the town i live, most kids i know who have either a parent who isnt into football or a parent from other parts of the country and support a different team CHOOSE city. I know they would get SC if they could.
But we are being pushed aside.
Silly.

The squad is both aging and lacking in talent.
Nunes, lewis, kovacic, doku, gundo and possibly akanji wouldnt be anywhere near a city side 2 seasons ago but they are regulars.
Walkers legs went a year ago, so did kdb’s and the failure to find help for rodri for 5 years meant on that reason alone i was glad when txiki announced his retirement, plus his player recruitment has been awful for some time

And pep? Well hes the greatest thats ever been. I worship him. But all good things come to an end and my feeling deep inside is that this cycle is coming to an end.

So are we in crisis? Nope no where near. But a BIG rebuild is looming quickly and its who takes that on and when is a huge decision
