“City in crisis”

Excellently put.
Our buys over several windows have been awful and its made for a very weak squad.
Last week the narrative was still “city have 2 world class players for every position”. We utterly dont. Even our first 11 this season looks as poor as its been for a long time.

Too many fans think they are “massive blues” for not calling out the management, players and owners and accuse those that do of entitlement and being plastic.
Behave.

The owners really DO put us local fans a distant second and they need to be very careful
This no nee season ticket situation in favour of day tripping tourists is VERY short sited. There is an opportunity to get and keep thousands of young blues.
I have a SC, i take my kids alternate home games on my uncles card. If i could i would by them a sc eac. I cant.
In the town i live, most kids i know who have either a parent who isnt into football or a parent from other parts of the country and support a different team CHOOSE city. I know they would get SC if they could.
But we are being pushed aside.
Silly.

The squad is both aging and lacking in talent.
Nunes, lewis, kovacic, doku, gundo and possibly akanji wouldnt be anywhere near a city side 2 seasons ago but they are regulars.
Walkers legs went a year ago, so did kdb’s and the failure to find help for rodri for 5 years meant on that reason alone i was glad when txiki announced his retirement, plus his player recruitment has been awful for some time

And pep? Well hes the greatest thats ever been. I worship him. But all good things come to an end and my feeling deep inside is that this cycle is coming to an end.

So are we in crisis? Nope no where near. But a BIG rebuild is looming quickly and its who takes that on and when is a huge decision
I agree with almost all of that, especially your comments about those who won't criticise when something is clearly wrong.
I also agree about the players highlighted apart from Lewis who is still coming to terms with first-team football at any level and Akanji who started in Istanbul.

Agreed.

My worry re Lewis - he always looks hurried - that's not a sign of genuinely very good player. He shows great attitude commitment etc, just the guile part, spacial awareness is lacking to me..and that comes a little with experience but realistically a lot of that is down to natural ability, inner confidence etc...great squad player though

You're 2 points behind the Dippers FFS!
Thing with most blues - we know we will still be here regardless of the division were in... so this may be the start of slow descent down the table (or relegation if found guilty of certain charges) regardless, we still we trudge to games in our thousands - i think we were the 6th best supported club in the country - when we were in division 3!!!!
