“City in crisis”

We does someone always have to get blamed?

Txiki?
Pep?

Both men together brought the golden age to city.

The Players needs replaced because that’s how football works.

These two are beyond reproach. Mistakes have happened and we have been slow in the market but ffs, what they have done for us is unbelievable.

Huge squad shake up needed. This is not a let’s blame the players either but they are the ones on the pitch fucking about. They received untold praise when doing well.

Footballers decline, get comfortable, couldn’t be arsed.

Most clubs sack managers at this point we sign our up for 2 more seasons.

Could you imagine an inferior manager coming in now? Look no further that the last 10 seasons of the rags. Give the dips a bit of praise they have handled their transition pretty well. Klopp left behind a pretty good squad.

Pep cares so much and we are so lucky he does.
Perfectly put. Modern day “I want it now!!!” society dictates that we have to find someone to blame and abuse. There’s no need. We need a rebuild and won’t win anything this season. It happens. And we’ve the best manager in the world in place to do it. With a sprinkling of world class players to use as the base. It’s a very exciting prospect for a normal football fan. But to the modern twitter fan - it won’t be over night. So pop off and leave the real fans to it will you

I am actually quite chilled , i trust pep and fit players to get us back on track . We have had so many injuries , i dont understand why that is not computing with the more hysterical blues

I am starting to think that a fair few of the worst ones on here have only been with us since the takeover and cant handle the thought of a barren spell

It will be ok

Most of us long time blues know supporting City is not about winning games or trophies (as nice as that is)

Some have forgotten that.

Our songs reflect that core support for our club.

You know when you have done it all and you’re the best there is and that’s when every other fan and media outlet go into meltdown because you’re having a downturn.

Same here kaz. We've gone through far worse than this so called "crisis" which is mostly down to being depleted by injuries. We're going through a bad spell that will probably get worse before it gets better, but we're a well run club nowadays with money to spend and Pep in charge.

He's here to rebuild the squad and go again and we just have to be patient and trust in him and his backroom staff and our boardroom staff. I'm not worried about the future, it's not as though we're getting relegated or wound up soon. We've never had it so good and now we're doing a bit bad on the pitch right now but things will improve soon.

That's what I wanted to say, thanks Kaz.

Im actually not that arsed.

Peps made all our dreams come true.

Treble.
Domestic quad.
100 points.
100 goals.
Won everything multiple times.

Absolutely lamped all our rivals at some point home and away:
Rags 6-3 & 0-3
Liverpool 5-0 & 1-4
Arsenal 5-0 & 1-4
Chelsea 6-0 & 1-3

Even the biggest in Europe we’ve smashed.
Real Madrid 4-0
Barcelona 3-1
Bayern 3-0

Last minute winners.
Signing Haaland.
Created a Ballon D’or winner.
Pissing off every other fanbase.

We need some bad times to touch base i think.
I’m a man of a certain age where I’ve seen us at our lowest. We’ve had so many highs I don’t get anywhere near excited now as I once did. Spoilt, maybe?
So a little re-set won’t do any City fan any harm. Take some beatings.
Remember it’s not easy to stay at the top and we have no devine right to win all the time.

We’ll rebuild and get back to where we were. Suppose what I’m saying is embrace the shitness for a bit. Feel it as Pep would say… It’s all part of the never ending journey.

Yep. Look at our appearances.

Eddie - 12
Walker - 6(2)
Stones - 3(4)
Dias - 8(1)
Ake - 1(2)
Akanji - 10
Simpson-Pusey - 1
Gvardiol - 11(1)
Lewis - 10(1)
Rodri - 1(1)
Kovacic - 10(1)
Gundo - 8(3)
Nunes - 3(5)
De Bruyne - 4(2)
Bernardo - 10(2)
Foden - 5(4)
McAtee - (1)
Doku - 5(3)
Savinho - 8(1)
Grealish - 4(4)
Haaland - 12

There are a few issues here. Obviously Rodri is a huge blow, meaning that Kovacic is having to fill in on a role that he's alright at, but not amazing. That would be hard enough, but he's had to do that while he's most commonly lining up alongside a 34 year-old Gundogan who was, with the best will in the world, brought in as a squad player at that age, and one of Rico Lewis, Bernardo Silva or Phil Foden, who can all do a job there, but play more frequently in other positions when everyone's fit. And after all that, now he's injured too.

The defence has had problems, obviously, but if you look at the number of appearances in the more creative positions, is it any wonder that we're struggling for end product at times in the games we dominate? The player who's played the most is also brand new, meaning he's not likely to be on the same wavelength at times. And no-one else other than Haaland has managed more than 5 starts. Is it any wonder patterns of play break down, leading to a quick break that our aging midfield (and Gundo was never great at covering the defence even at his peak) struggle to deal with? And that leaves our defence is exposed to fuck. It's so similar to Pep's first season, it's ridiculous.

And that's before we even mention the players who aren't really fit but are still playing because we have no other options.

However, it is definitely legitimate to criticise the recruitment over the last couple of seasons, which has been a bit more hit and miss than in the past. In particular, we've been a bit too reactive for my liking. In the past, we've brought in the replacement for David Silva or Fernandinho, for example, before they left the club. At other times, we've ended up scrabbling around for replacements for players like Kompany, Aguero, Mahrez, etc. Obviously, you can't win them all, but there are lots of senior players, who have been senior for a while, who I'm not confident we already have replacements for at the club like we often used to (even if it wasn't like-for-like). If KDB and Gundo leave, is there anyone currently at the club to take up the world class mantle in those positions? Do we have a Walker replacement at the club already? Only if you think Lewis is going to become a world class full back.

I was fully satisfied after watching us win the League at Newcastle all those years ago, everything since has been a bonus.
