“City in crisis”

My take. And it's a forum at the end of the day.

We've set the bar so high, I think lots (including me) expect us to be the best every year. Unfortunately this year we're definitely not.

Issues for me are legs in midfield, absolutely poor recruiting when at the top of game and the decline of 2/3 club legends. Love them all but for me Walker/Bern/Gundo not as elite as they were, certainly not bad players.

We are absolutely not far off and dont think we've been over taken by other teams improving significantly better, we've just stood still, or worse.

1 maybe 2 good windows and I think we can be best team in world again.

Seen a lot worse. Chin up Blues.

Its not a crisis its just the end of another chapter in history at least as far as the team on matchdays goes.

It happens to all teams especially in comps that are as competitive as the Premier League.

All teams are striving to improve all the time and all the worlds best players will not want to or be able come to City with the passing of each transfer window.

Some people have short memories in the past twelve seasons Liverpool have finished outside the top 4 on 4 occasions and finished 4th twice.

They have won one title in that timeline the same number as Leicester City.

Arsenal have finished outside the top 4 on 6 occasions and have not won a title.

Chelsea the next best team in terms of premierships in that timeline with 2 and finishing outside the top 4 the following season after winning the title have finished outside the top 4 on 4 occasions including finishing 12th.

None of these clubs one would say despite the results they were in crisis.

This year might be the first time 16 seasons we finish outside the top 4 , yes that is right 16 seasons on the spin.

If so I won't be complaining too much.

Manure have finished outside the top 4 on 6 occasions since we last finished outside the top 4.

16 years around 20 per cent of your lifetime , yep no complaints from me.

Sure no supporter likes their team to lose 5 on the spin but it happens to the best of run clubs , that is just the nature of sport as it should be.
I'm trying to quote that to send to my mates on WhatsApp. Unreal when you take it in.

I'll take that crisis.

the problem is the 115 charges . if you remember the beginning of the season we hardly spent a penny hoping to get through the season with very little injuries .. but unfortunately we have had a lot of injuries and to be honest the midfield is not up to it.. and i think city are waiting to see what division there in before splashing the cash

We are now a bang average team, after 16 years of investment even with Pep in charge.
