“City in crisis”

This is what happens when the squad is unbalanced and too old....the latter caused by bring too successful, it's too easy to think we'll just let them rumble on, they're winning so no big need to change.

That being said yesterday even with no midfield it was fine margins and 4-0 wasn't a fair indication of the game.

I wouldn’t call this a crisis however we are a team who don’t look like we know where our next win is coming from. We can’t convert our chances and too easy to play through. We recruited poorly in the summer with an ageing squad with ageing players come more injuries which is showing

You’re right in every aspect of what you’ve posted. It could have been six though. They hit the post and Son’s effort was well saved by Ederson. We on the other hand need 10 chances to score one goal at the moment. We were bullied throughout the game apart from the first 5 minutes. Big problems at the minute and a real challenge to get this team motivated again. But we’ve been here before and I’m confident pep will sort.

I thought we got battered yesterday. Although sometimes that can be better than losing narrowly and thinking everything is ok

Yep, three games ago I wouldn't have been all that worried, but i reckon that we ARE in crisis now ...... right now we are totally devoid of confidence, and we don't look to be a team that can do anything right.

Its not a crisis its just the end of another chapter in history at least as far as the team on matchdays goes.

It happens to all teams especially in comps that are as competitive as the Premier League.

All teams are striving to improve all the time and all the worlds best players will not want to or be able come to City with the passing of each transfer window.

Some people have short memories in the past twelve seasons Liverpool have finished outside the top 4 on 4 occasions and finished 4th twice.

They have won one title in that timeline the same number as Leicester City.

Arsenal have finished outside the top 4 on 6 occasions and have not won a title.

Chelsea the next best team in terms of premierships in that timeline with 2 and finishing outside the top 4 the following season after winning the title have finished outside the top 4 on 4 occasions including finishing 12th.

None of these clubs one would say despite the results they were in crisis.

This year might be the first time in 16 seasons we finish outside the top 4 , yes that is right 16 seasons on the spin.

If so I won't be complaining too much.

Manure have finished outside the top 4 on 6 occasions since we last finished outside the top 4.

16 years around 20 per cent of your lifetime , yep no complaints from me.

Sure no supporter likes their team to lose 5 on the spin but it happens to the best of run clubs , that is just the nature of sport as it should be.

Good post that puts things in perspective. We've had an amazing run. We are due a down season.

We DID get battered ...... it was totally embarrassing to have to watch that City performance ... Spurs looked to be on a different planet to us after that opening 12 minutes, during which we missed a few chances..
