“City in crisis”

Delaying signing a contract because you are unsure if you want to, isn’t holding anyone to ransom. It’s actually a million miles from that. Like anyone, Pep is entitled to do what’s best for him, given he was honouring the contract he was previously subject to.
Not quite a million miles.

Happy Christmas you curmudgeonly old c#nt!

The solution is to put a date in the contract by which time it has to be renewed or allowed to run out. I’d suggest July 31. I doubt they have done this on the renewal.
Your last phrase is not strictly correct, the renewal is a response to an offer of a new/extended contract.

The solution, as you put it, is plainly irrelevant for the purposes of the contract which he was subject. And could only be inserted by way of agreement. That’s how contracts work. And in what way wasn’t he honouring that contract?

I agree with everything you said up until the last bit. I can't understand, even if you can't afford to go and watch City, why you would go and watch another team, even if they are non league. Years ago I worked with a lad who was a big United fan, or so I thought, who went home and away with them. When the Glazers took over he became one of the founding members of FC ushited, which I felt was odd to say the least. I remember saying to him that we had had years of Peter Swales and as much as we disliked him we always went to watch and support City and didn't just up sticks and go and watch Droylsden. I can not get my head around it.
The idea is that you spend £20 on three tickets and can see three games rather than spending £60 on a ticket for one game. It's not the team you support but it's three matches to attend. Or you see two games and save the third £20.
It works if live football is your thing, but not if City (or any other PL club) is your thing. Personally I'd sooner spend £60 on City and see one game out of three, but that's easy for me to say as I'm in a position where I can afford all home games as I have an FOC season ticket.
The mini-rags gave moaning rag fans an ideal exit route especially with the anti-Glazer element.

Strictly speaking honouring the existing contract would be leaving at the end of it. The renewal is a separate matter, really. As for the last date for signing anew, that should have been part of the renewal offer. I just think overall, this has been handled poorly. Soriano too busy in CFG?

Applying the logic of your first sentence then the club hasn’t honoured the contract either, by virtue of renewing it.

Parties to a contract can agree to vary, or renew it at in any time. That’s a basic and well established principle of contract law. As long as it’s by agreement (and how could it not be?) then an extension/renewal could not be in any way characterised as a party not honouring the contract that was superseded, because it plainly suits both parties to extend/renew at that time.

Your point that I took issue with was about Pep holding the club to ransom, which you’ve conspicuously failed to address. In what way did he do that?

Yes mate, that's definitely the explanation

i am believing the same thing since 2010 or something: "there shouldnt be a manager, tecnical director, boss whatever we call for a football team. football is too chaotic to be managed by one man"
when things are going good under the management of a boss, it is great. otherwise you can go to deep.
thats what o believe...
is this idea practical? no. i know... but we are in the transitiom stage for big football clubs as of 2025...
but football is going to that idea, i belive.
too much responsibility to handle.for one guy
cheers
