“City Matters” fan committee

City Matters is nothing but a gimmick to placate the fans and let them think they have representation. The honest and unpalatable truth is that the club don’t give a flying fuck about the average match going fans. They are a necessary evil. If they would all just fuck off they could get £200 a seat at every game. That is the ultimate objective.
Unfortunately this has been the case all the time I have supported the club. You can go back to the letter we got from the club asking for an explantation of how we’d allowed Millwall fans to rip out our seats. Or how about queuing for Gillingham tickets where 9 hours of snaking through the North Stand lead to an odd, temporary blitz spirit that evaporated as soon as you got your ticket in your hand. Some fans drove to Gillingham and back for tickets quicker than we queued. The Liverpool Carabao Cup shambles is the straw that’s broken the camel’s back for me.

How the hell are we supposed to get to the stadium if the public transport is worse than a third world country?

Lets increase the stadium capacity and make things even worse.
And the club’s now got to sort out the country’s transport system. You’re avin a lafff

Do you not think it’s a valid question? If the transport links were better there may well be less early leavers. It’s by no means the most pressing issue, but it’d be interesting to get the club’s opinion on it at least.

The main bone of contention is the perceived lack of communication from whoever is involved with City Matters. A lot of us would like City Matters to tell the club about the things we raise, discuss and debate on this forum.

That’s why it’d be good to get a bit more of a regular insight into how successful they are in that endeavour.
Not at all valid. I just want the club to be able to sort out the team - not the country

So you honestly feel everything except the team is fine? The atmosphere, the ticket prices? City Square, the ‘organised fun’? The way day trippers who spend £100 in the shop are prioritised over ‘legacy fans’?

I don’t think anyone on here expects the club to fix the transport links. The point is, we’d like to know what their opinion on it is, along with the myriad of other issues discussed by Blues on this forum.

What’s more, if the club is aware of the weekly tram chaos, and if the club does care, they can lobby the pertinent parties (mayor’s office, Keolis Amey Metrolink, etc etc). That’s what plenty of other clubs do.

It’s nota case of that, it’s the club using its leverage to look at logistics and work with the relevant operators and Councillors
Is there anything more frustrating than missing the start of the game through no fault of your own because the transport system is crap?

From the minutes of the last meeting held in October.
Fan Behaviour Messages
Action Point
The Club presented its current fan behaviour messages which are published on website, socials and in-bowl. The Club noted City Matters feedback that the variance and frequency of these could be increased. It was agreed that this will remain a standing item for the Club and City Matters to discuss over the season.
City Matters asked for a breakdown of offences, investigations and the subsequent sanction or ban issued. The Club agreed to present figures to City Matters throughout the season. The Club also intends to communicate this to the wider fan base.

Given the issues after the recent cup games didn’t someone on here say the club didn’t want to mention anything about any arrests? If so isn’t that going against what they have said last October
Thanks for posting but as far as I can see the main issue at hand is away followings in the cup,
Have all the posters you want but the club needs to ensure firm action is taken

Look mate. The post was about the club sorting out public transport. You’ve gone off on one. Do me a favour & read the original post.

I’d rather they concentrated on football like all the other clubs in the PL.
