“City Matters” fan committee

Completely agree. As I said in an earlier post the club should be lobbying Keolis Amey Metrolink, Burnham’s office, etc etc. They may well be doing that already - but we don’t know and that’s why an update from City Matters would be handy!
The corporates don't arrive at the stadium by tram. That's why the club will be doing absolutely nothing about it. If they were, they would tell us. No reason not to. As usual from the club its radio silence.

From the minutes of the last meeting held in October.
Fan Behaviour Messages
Action Point
The Club presented its current fan behaviour messages which are published on website, socials and in-bowl. The Club noted City Matters feedback that the variance and frequency of these could be increased. It was agreed that this will remain a standing item for the Club and City Matters to discuss over the season.
City Matters asked for a breakdown of offences, investigations and the subsequent sanction or ban issued. The Club agreed to present figures to City Matters throughout the season. The Club also intends to communicate this to the wider fan base.

Given the issues after the recent cup games didn’t someone on here say the club didn’t want to mention anything about any arrests? If so isn’t that going against what they have said last October
Forget your question, as relevant as it is wtf is in-bowl?
Do people deliberately write/speak shit to look clever?

Can you imagine a Friday night match again with a gig on! My god.
They say no match will take place when a concert is on. A concert is planned 2 years in advance. That date is fixed. We don't even know when we play fa Cup matches a week after the draw. If sky/bbc say they want City v Dips on a certain night, we will be buying half n half City/Britney* scarves. Oh what fun it will be getting home.

*other washed up, mad celebrities are available to play the venue.

Didn't even notice that but WTF does it mean? Presumably it means messages are read out or played over the screens inside the stadium. Maybe someone with Twitter can tweet the club and ask when the next meeting is or alternatively email the reps and ask.

Well nothing has actually been formally agreed/announced as far as I know, but a paper was sent to the board.

We talked about various things: getting Metrolink to use the trams they have more effectively before and after matches. To answer the points above, they have been talking to Metrolink but Metrolink just saw it in terms of running more trams than the ones they have already, which they weren't prepared to do. I suggested they provide more capacity via their existing fleet and run a few trams that would normally terminate at Piccadilly to the Etihad, and/or run more Bury/Altrincham/East Didsbury/Oldham & Rochdale trams to Ashton instead of their normal destination, so we have an Ashton double every 6 minutes or fewer, an hour before matches and vice versa for 30 minutes after.

We also talked about buses and how they could be used more effectively, running to the major tram stops or stations. So have buses to Victoria, Queens Road, Cornbrook etc. Also potentially park-and-rides at suitable locations. The club (disappointingly, in my view) were keen on somehow enhancing walking routes. That's OK up to a point but it's not the answer.

There's a lot of thinking and planning to be done but I'm hopeful at least one major initiative will come out of it.
Thank you PB. If the Club want me to yomp to the stadium at my age then they should provide training facilities and put me on their books.

It definitely needs some sort of strategy because it's already a bit of a mess and with the new parking restrictions (confirmed details are due early 2023 so will be announced soon) it's going to be a challenge for some people to get to some games. At the Arsenal FA Cup game it was clear that a lot of regulars aren't bothering with night games that are an additional cost on top of the season ticket and that is largely due to the faff & rush of getting there. Much easier to just watch it on telly.

Should be a very quiet first year then.

Agreed. It’s getting increasingly harder to physically get to certain matches. There’ll be snipers on the roof next!
