“City Matters” fan committee

Exactly. Not filling the plane doesn't benefit anyone. Even if they wait till everyone has tickets before they open bookings, the same thing could happen plus the people who know they've got tickets earliest will be branches, seasonal hospitality members and people on the highest points who know they'll get a ticket. So ST holders who have to wait to see if they secure a ticket will be last in the queue.
This year it was the second plane they cancelled, at the last minute, leaving about 50 fans in the shit.
So ensuring enough tickets to fill one plane doesn’t add up.

Are they guaranteed 200 tickets regardless of how many people book with TC who already have their own tickets, therefore, in effect, adding to the TC allocation of 200?

If it's not working we can always change it. But how do you know you've got a ticket for the Schalke game? They've not gone on sale to ST holders yet. So you've either got high points that will pretty well guarantee you a ticket, you've got one through a branch or you know someone who will definitely source one for you.
None of the above , I have taken a gamble in the hope I get 2 , if not me and the wife will have a couple of nights in Germany and watch the game in a bar. It’s the risk we take a bit like booking on tc except we don’t get a refund if we don’t fit the criteria.
And you have brought up a very valid point about not on sale to ST holders, why not when supporter clubs have there allocations and have had for a couple of weeks. And that’s not a dig at supporters clubs but at how long it takes the club to issue ticket details for the ordinary fan. How about asking the club to address that issue ?

I’ve raised several issues that seem to be directed at independent fans and linked them to a similar issue that is within the SC. However each time it gets deflected.
Independent fans can be shit on, Supporters Clubs are the gold standard it seems.

As it seems to have been agreed between the fans reps and the club already there isn’t much point in commenting anymore. I thought the idea of this group was to put the interest of the fans first ? I will look forward to if and when we get to the final as I now know how to guarantee my ticket !
You`re being very naive if you think its going to guarantee you a ticket, even with any changes.

Here is the link you made between Shaktar, stopping people selling tickets on and Thomas Cook. I can almost guarantee Schalke will be sold out.
I would imagine Schalke will be sold out as both knockout games last season were. Will the TC flight, operating under the old arrangement, be sold out though? It's still on sale at the moment, as is the Spurs one which is offering a guar

But how many people will be going on their own tickets or other peoples' tickets? People are complaining that some tickets under the new arrangement may go to ST holders who don't qualify on points. But if we succeed in reducing the number of second hand tickets then more people will qualify on points than did previously. That's the only linkage I'm making.

The branch allocations were given out on Thursday 3rd January. Our branch has none, so I’m told.
But some branches will have tickets. And they have an advantage as they know they can safely book travel. Yes, I agree it's unfair. I'm hoping the club put everything on the table when we talk to them about ticket allocations and the points system.

Sorry I must of misunderstood, I thought tc had a certain amount of tickets that could be purchased by any fan regardless of points ? Or am I missing something ?

It still wouldn`t guarantee you a ticket. And here`s me thinking with all the hoo hah at the way City operate people still want to "jump the queue" and get tickets irrespective of how many points they have.Or not as seems the case.
Perhaps fans should show solidarity and just boycott the whole mess. But then again most fans are selfish fuckers and some act with the voice of "don`t do as I do,do as I say".

A few people have brought this up and I will do that. It doesn't seem right to me that, if the club decide on an allocation for each group, they can't put them on sale at the same time.

I’m sorry to go on Colin, but giving 200 tickets to Thomas Cook may sort out their underselling issue but it doesn’t in the least bit address reducing the number of tickets that go to people who don’t have the points. If I had lower points I’d just book TC with a guaranteed ticket.

Do you think Supporters Clubs are part of the “second hand ticket” market?

Who is asking to jump the queue ? I’ve made my point that I don’t agree with the new proposal, it’s the club that have made it clear anyone regardless of points can just jump on a tc flight and get a ticket.
