Does anyone else think City Should sell season tickets earlier in in the year?

Every season City are cramming season ticket sales, semi-final cup ticket sales, Cup final ticket sales, away ticket sales, and CL ticket sales into a few of weeks, which is causing problems at the ticket office. The club should sell season tickets in late March or early April.
They used to do an early bird offer where you got a discount if you bought it before the end of march - that was often when we didn't know what division we would be in.

Do the football league still do it with teams getting promoted into league 2?
They couldn't complain that the premier league do the same.

It’s an awful suggestion. Basically saying to the majority of teams in the football league that they can stop dreaming about ever reaching the Premier League.

At our meeting yesterday, the club accepted that the Madrid match day membership sales were a mistake.

They made the case that they followed the same criteria as Madrid last season and interestingly, that we have never had match day qualifying criteria based upon attendance - any that has existed has been solely due to security. That said, me and a few others pointed out the obvious about Bayern sales, and the general demand for match day sales all season. Appreciate that none of this solves what happened.

Nonetheless, we have agreed to work with the club to develop an approach to match day tickets qualifying criteria.

Whilst we have some to do that, there is the potential that the FA Cup Final and Champions League Final (if we get there) could go down to member sales. In reality, it’s highly unlikely that United will go to match day members. However, to avoid a similar problem to Madrid, they have asked us to put some options forward pretty quickly.

Happy to hear everyone’s views. The way I see it, we could:

• Leave as it is
• Base it on ticket points
• Base it on attendance in the FA Cup
• A blend of the two above

It may be too complicated, but I would base it on FA Cup attendance first (trying to replicate cup scheme membership for season ticket holders) and then have points brackets within.

Edit: Also worth adding that our number one priority, is to add a point around not being eligible for a ticket if you buy membership after the game has been pulled out of the hat.
Keep it simple, Cup scheme then points , People should at least some kind of purchase history to attend prestigious games .

It is not unreasonable to expect minimum standards for stadiums in the Premier League. Bournemouth have been enjoying huge broadcast revenues for the last six years and have done virtually nothing to improve their infrastructure. When they came up their owner said they had to expand the ground to be sustainable. I am not saying teams should be denied promotion (as is the case for those coming up from non league to the EFL) but they must take steps to improve their stadiums over an agreed period once they are promoted to the PL.

But there isn’t room to expand their stadium and finding land the the like for a new one can take years. I believe this is something they have been looking at for a while. Took Everton nearly 20 years to find a suitable site.

The minimum size for the Championship is only 5k. The FL/EFL got a lot more relaxed on clubs getting promoted after Stevenage were the last club to get robbed in the mid-90s.

The EFL tend to help clubs and waiver requirements in the short term, most are already big enough and just need to do some segregation, and perhaps additional toilets as you can't walk round in the ground. They provide grants you can claim to go towards improving the stadium, even if 10 years after promotion, but they require that you own the ground or a new 50 year lease to get the grant.

Bournemouth only have a few years left on their lease, and if they improved the ground they would just see the rents put up, and it will cost millions and still a small ground.

We only took the lower amount for Pompey in 2005 of 1,100 not many complained then (rare 3-1 win there for us in the Sat evening rain), but all would be Points or Supporters Clubs back then.

Think we did 5 years in 5 different divisions
In those days they needed us!!!
Now they don’t give a toss as we don’t contribute as much £££

I never joined the cup scheme this season but have been to every home FA cup game so should I miss out?
Suppose that would depend on who you’d be missing out too, but that’s only 3 games (? is it ) of a 30ish home game season you’re talking about there, so there’s not a lot of information to go at. They could be the only 3 games you’ve ever been to for all I know .

Bottom line is commitment to the cup scheme (all home games just like you ) get you in the hat 1st and loyalty points sorts everything else out.

We did that years & years ago.

There were three prices for every season ticket if you remember..... something like a 'buy by 31/03' @ £XX, 'buy by 30/05' @ £XX + another few quid and 'buy by @ 30/06' @ £XX at a bit more again.

Think PJS wanted his summer holidays paid for by us.

RE: Phones. The need to speak to someone at City is reasonably rare so having experienced staff in place to answer calls during high demand is difficult to arrange.

Unless I’m making this up, I’m fairly sure I relocated online last time I chose to.
