I spoke about Jack on TalkSport last week, in opposition to the hammering he was getting.

He’s in a difficult spot at the moment in terms of the public narrative. We watch him week in week out, but others see low statistical output in G/A, then see him benched for the derby and think he’s had a stinker.

Jack will be f*cking top for us. His primary issue at LW is the underlapping Cancelo (the lad is made for an overlapping WB instead), and having no true target man attacking the space in the box.

His secondary issue is just a matter of time. Who ever comes into a Pep team and fires on all cylinders from the off (other than our Kompany reincarnate at the back)?

Third issue is kind of also a matter of time. He’s going to be our Free #8 as KDB’s powers wane, no doubt about it. He’s been devastating in his cameos there, I just don’t think Pep trusts him enough yet to make the right decisions, especially with tempo control (Edit: and workrate on the press). He’ll get there and he’ll be ace.
Did you say all that on the show? That is a good take. would love to hear the clip if you have a link

Sorry, mate, I was poking fun at your typo, 'skillets'!

Anyway, my guess is that Grealish and Foden will eventually move back, as heirs to KDB and Gundo. (Let's hope Bernie stays to complicate things.) I'll be very happy if Jack can match Gundo's levels the last couple of years – and he may well do. However, I wouldn't say it's a cast-iron certainty.
haha I had my sayings mixed up mate. I was thinking something else. As for Jack let's hope pep moves him into the middle soon.

He should do . Grealish played as a no 8 for Aston Villa before . In fact grealish thinks its his best position.

Unfortunately for grealish pep says that he doesn't seem him as a midfielder.

He is wrong because if grealish played for city in midfield . He could become one of the best midfielders in the
premier league.

he was never world class. he was a useful cog in a system and a very good player. he was never considered a great talent. Infact Isco who was a similar type of player was considered as the one we should by and rated higher. Germany also lacked very good midfielders for a period of time, International football is useless to judge a player.
If you don't think he is not a World Class player you don't know football.

Pep's first signing, probably his best and one of the first names on the team sheet, that tells you everything.

Not been on here in a while, but reading this shows some blues are still never happy. 11 league games into a season, where a player is adapting to a system where he could do whatever he wanted to a complex and strictly regimented system.
11 league games into a season where we have already schooled Chelsea, Liverpool and United away.

In a weird way that makes me feel that, somehow, all is OK in the world. Never change guys, never change!

You don’t want Grealish to be moulded by Guardiola - he’d become average.
So true. Just like the way he moulded David Silva, KDB, Bernardo Silva & Foden etc etc into average players

Pep’s clearly shite at moulding players & if we had our way, we’d sack him right now eh LSG?

Pep out!!!

You don’t want Grealish to be moulded by Guardiola - he’d become average. We paid £100m for a mercurial player, not some dull component in a system.

I want us to to use him like Modric; allow him to improvise from a central midfield position, carry the ball, borrow it to others. Let him control the entire game.
Go support PSG if you want a bunch of talented mavericks.

Support City if you want a great team.

That particular poster has made a fair few posts where he hints that Pep is holding us back. He must think we are as stupid as him/her.

Grealish has at times appeared a little predictable in the inverted winger role as have Sterling and Mahrez. The thing that gives me no doubt at all he will shine for us is his decision making and calmness on the ball. He generally chooses and executes the right pass and in tight spaces sometimes sees passes no one else does. In this he is night and day compared with Sterling.

When Phil was at the euros . What did he do . I am not say that Phil won't become a world class player . But Ballon Dor. I don't know .

It is a bit unfair to Phil.

England plays a system with striker and traditional overlapping left footed left full back (Shaw/Chilwell) - so of course England use inverted right footed left winger (Sterling/Grealish/sometimes Rashford). Phil has to move to the right wing. Totally different to what City did mostly last season. I think that the main reason he was dropped after 2 games - Phil struggled to adapt to the striker system - aka serving Harry Kane. Thus I really hoped Harry Kane would join after Euro - to give Phil some learning of playing with a striker and a better chance in the national team.

Sterling and Grealish are far more experienced and have played under multiple managers/teams with traditional strikers. So naturally they adapt easier.

Again I really hope City will buy a striker soon. It will benefit Grealish and Foden's England career.

Read his posts. He's either a troll or bell end. He has posted on lots of different player threads and has nothing positive to say in any of them. All while simultaneously making snide digs at Pep. He should be looked at by one of the mods as he only joined this year and it's strange someone would sign up so recently and immediately begin to slander the manager and players.

Judging from many 2021 sign ups it seems the forum is happy to go for quantity over quality these days.

The thing about Foden is that he has never really done it for England . The system he plays in with Man City might
make him look a better player than he actually is.
Never done what? He's just getting started...if he were in a club that was mid table and just let him do whatever the fxxk he wanted he would be a walking highlight reel...this kid has all the attributes of a world class player...the type that take their team places...not sure what you're watching...
