I get all the criticisms levied at the table of Jack but why I was not really bothered about his inadequate finishing was because yesterday’s match showed that he had really begun to come along. I thought he had a very good game, drawing opposition players all over the place and connecting well with team mates. Previously it was as though he was shackled on the left side of our attack so whenever he got the ball he’d just do a funny trick and pass the ball to the next person, rinse and repeat. But yesterday you could tell that he looked very comfortable as he was gliding past players and he was freer.

This is a good sign because initially I had thought we had wasted 100m on a player but the signs from yesterday suggest otherwise. From now henceforth we should play him down the middle but he needs to know that his work is cut out to sort his finishing. If I recall the game at Anfield was the other game he played false nine and he didn’t do badly there just that he was much better yesterday. I can even say yesterday was his best game for us yet.

With the improvement of both Grealish and Sterling coming at this critical time, and KDB having been getting more rest than even he needed, and Foden back in the team,we are really starting to look like we are pulling it all together at the EXACT right time to go on a run.

As Chelsea have shown, one slip up and you’re 3rd at the moment, so it’s incumbent upon the team to keep up this relentless pace week in, week out, which will require some rest and rotation.

Personally, I haven’t seen City play this quality of totally dominating football in my lifetime. Yes, we have had good spells, but we seem to be hitting on every cylinder, with the exception of finishing. Yesterday should have been 7-0 before Watford got a sniff, but once again, we looked a bit sloppy late on as we pushed and pushed and pushed.

I’d like to see us having put games to bed (at least 2 goals ahead, preferably 3, and in control of the ball) by the 65-70 minute mark, so we can get some rotation on the pitch.

It is a privilege to be a City fan at present.

Very good game yesterday pep clearly rates the lad to play him in that role. I think it speaks volumes that a player like Jack is doing everything he can to be a team player. Just wait til it fully clicks...

100m for a player who takes up a position where we need scorers, who's weakest arrribute is scoring. Shite business. The guy Nkuku would have cost half and probably been a much better fit. Pep needs to sort Jack's issues out or he will be a liability. He had already missed lots of important gilt edged chances in front of goal. The one against Chelsea nearly cost us. Today it didnt cause pressure as we are on a different level from Watford. If you want to play in our forward line you should be comfortable in front of goal. Simple as that.
You had better hope nobody bookmarks this

the only difference between the other games is that he was played centrally and was allowed to move from his position to link up play, immediately he looks better, I don't think that is a coincidence. I hope to never see him out on the wing unless we need to slow down the play and control possession, otherwise he is no use there. Foden is better on the wing anyway.

Grealish needs to be putting at least 2 of those chances away, or else he’ll find himself on the bench again, I think Pep will start him against Wolves, and let’s hope he’s more clinical than yesterday..

Just like any other our player with their meh finishing ability atm, Jack Grealish is no different but despite that he play really well and involve himself in City goals today. Pep always rate player like that, who makes obvious contribution in the team despite a lack of goal and assist in his match today. As long he can make contribution like that and keep our team on their winning streak, he have a trust from manager and hopefully contribute goal and assist along the way.

Will Grealish improve under Pep? Most likely, yes.
Will he be the difference maker for City, i.e will he be the one to lead City to Champions League glory, the guy that drags the team along when things aren't going well? I don't think so.
He might go on to become City's best player in a Premier league season, but you don't spend 100 million to win a trophy you've won 3 times in 5 years
