open your eyes wide mate. let me say this again, so listen carefully with your mind. Grealish was not bought for the front 3 but for the middle of the park. bernardo staying changed that for the short term so he is being played out of position. hopefully posters here remember this line before posting the same useless arguments.
Again, regardless of what you want or say. Grealish has never spent any real time centrally in his career, he’s certainly never played as an 8 in a 3 man midfield. If he were to be deployed in place of Bernardo, we would be about 7th. He’s played his entire career in a free role or forward left.

He’s a talented player, but will have to greatly improve to become integral to City.

Currently he’s behind Jesus, Sterling, Mahrez & Foden wide and he’s behind Gundogan, Bernardo, Foden & De Bruyne for the ‘8’..

There is talent there, that’s for sure.

Hi Pep :)

Seriously, you don't know who's behind whom. Don't confuse your guesses for facts.

There were articles saying Pep"s plan was to play Grealish centrally, but Foden's injury and Sterling's form forced him to play Grealish on the left. Bernardo's form played a role as well.

On the left, as a false 9 or as an AM, Grealish will flourish. Imo, it's a matter of time.

Haha, some people are just too invested in Grealish and don’t want to admit he has been underwhelming so far. Nobody is saying he won’t get better, but he has been average at best so far.
I do agree with what you say but my post wasn't aimed at commenting on Grealish. who is or isn't looked upon favourably in these things is irrelevant, it was just to highlight the pointless use of these kind of stats.

He’s simply not performed so far. Mahrez, Sterling have taken their chances in his absence.

Foden, De Bruyne are just far better players and I don’t even think Jack’s Grandma or that Aguerooo fella above would argue he’s above Gundogan or Bernardo for a central role..

You’re right, the hope is that he does flourish, but to date he’s not shown the attacking instincts to clinically affect the game. I don’t think anyone is doubting that there’s talent and potential there..

this stat will conveniently gets overlooked by everyone having an agenda against Jack. Surely for this kind of stat to come up he should be doing something right at least right? As far as I see, Jack is doing everything correctly from the midfield till the opposition box after which there are two issues, one he is not a finisher himself and two his teammates either messup their finish or they make a extra pass instead and the chance is gone. Having an actual striker will get his assist number to a very high place.
Are you a jack fan or a city fan?

If Barry Daffern & Jon Shacklock couldn’t improve us both as kids at the Mighty Lane, I don’t think Pep would be able to either ;)

The phrase can’t polish a turd springs to mind!!

If you’re up this way visiting your old fella over Christmas, drop me a line mate. Would love to grab a pint having not seen you for 30 years. I’ll get my old fella to come out too if he’s about
Haha.... I think I knew more about football even then than those 2 but their hearts were on the right place.
Won't be up over Xmas time.....way too much going on but yeah next time I'm up that way I'll give you a shout

Loved Jon’s team talks. Pretty certain one of them was taken straight out of the first Rocky film

You’re right about their hearts being I the right place tho. Jon’s heart broke years ago mate. No idea if you know, but his son Danny died about 18 years ago from leukaemia, so Jon started a charity

Lee Daffern is still in High Lane, so I see him about from time to time, normally in The Red Lion & see Pottsy running in Hazel Grove occasionally, other than that, no idea what anyone else from our team is doing nowadays

I still think our team holds the club record for most loses in a season :)

Yeah but it was all fun

Yeah knew about Danny...very sad....I bumped into John about a year after he died and he told me about what had happened. John looked like he had taken it very badly (obviously as you would......)

I'm still in touch with Ben Drain but that's it....not seen anyone since we all finished. I went onto to play open age football at 16 till I went to uni...stopped there as went to Loughborough and no chance of getting on those teams as it was all semi pro at least
