Sadly, and it’s not all on Grealish by any means, but we were flying in his absence, our best period of form this season.

Grealish missed Everton, PSG, WHam and didn't start vs Villa. You think that was our best period of form so far? Well, Foden missed the last 3 from those games as well, and wasn't great vs Everton. By your logic we play better without Foden...

We played great football when we went to Chelsea, PSG and Liverpool. Personally, I think our performance at Stamford Bridge was at least as good as that vs PSG at home, given that it was at the ground of the CL winners, and that we utterly dominated them. Grealish was part of that, had most key passes at SB.

He missed the derby, then the four you mentioned. That’s 5 wins on the spin. I may be wrong but that is our best run of results and the most in control we’ve looked all season.

I agree, we were excellent at Chelsea and Anfield.

I just think we look a more fluid attacking side without Grealish currently.

I have no issue with Grealish, he’s a talent who needs time, it’s the fan boys that can’t see fault in him.

He’s probably been a 5/6 out of ten so far. But that’s not good enough for City. He’s not producing what he should or what we need.

Chelsea away, PSG away and Liverpool away were more difficult fixtures than PSG home and United away. We played some great stuff with Grealish (Foden and KDB) in the team, and we played great football (in particular vs PSG and Villa away, 1st half) without them. It would be wrong to draw substantial conclusions from those games about their importance to the team.

I’ve not drawn any substantial conclusions. 5 wins on the spin is our best form this season.

My conclusion from watching every game this season, is that Grealish slows us right down, makes us look a little pedestrian. He doesn’t contribute enough in the business end of the field.

I think he’s a talented footballer who will need to drastically improve to be the player we need. Currently he’s a nice footballer but is flattering to deceive at the moment. Things will hopefully improve for him..

unfortunately for you pep disagrees with everything you just said. I know who to trust in understanding our team

I didn’t know you had a direct line to Pep…

And it’s not unfortunate for me in any way shape or form you loon. I’m not like you, i’m not arsed about being ‘right’ on a forum, especially when discussing the game with someone who’s likely never set foot in the stadium or even on a football pitch for that matter.

I’m saying what I see, Grealish has played lots of minutes. you seem determined to suggest it’s because Pep thinks he’s doing great, I make room for the fact that’s he’s likely getting those minutes because Sterling was way way off form and that both De Bruyne & Foden have struggled with injury and or illness. Torres has been out injured too. So he’s basically been competing with Mahrez, Jesus and a other for 3 spots. If Sterling continues his form, De Bruyne & Foden get fully fit, his game time is likely going to diminish further.

Grealish is a talented boy, but so far, for City he’s struggled. This is now quite a popular view. Fans, pundits and journalists pointing it out quite a frequently.

Since Grealish’s injury we’ve gone from 3rd, level points with West Ham and 3 above the rags to top. Looking back to our best.
Grealish’s first start back, and we looked very laboured again. He’s not yet at our level. He will hopefully get there.

5 full seasons + 1 half season to be precise.
At least since the second half of the 16/17 season, yeah. Apart from, erm, a few occasions...

Pep’s first game vs Sunderland at home was Fernandinho, KDB and Silva in midfield and Sterling, Aguero and Nolito as front three… playing a 4-3-3 system.
