that is a funny distraction you are trying to make there. Pep pretty clearly says he his happy with what Jack is doing within the team. He even goes on to say that we would not have won the CL group or 1st in the PL without Jack's contribution. He directly says he is happy with what Jack is doing and does not want to make any changes to the way he is playing. Do you think he is lying about all that? also Pep playing him at most times in the first 11 seems to disprove your theory. It seems to me Jack is carrying out the exact instructions that pep is giving him.
Yes, I think he’s lying. He will want all his players to do better. Especially those underperforming like Grealish.
Pep is long known for being stubborn with some players and tough on others.
He treats each player accordingly.
Sadly, and it’s not all on Grealish by any means, but we were flying in his absence, our best period of form this season.
Saturday, we were back to being a little one paced and predictable vs Wolves, even when they were down to 10 men.
We’ve not seen that in the games Grealish has missed.
If you really think Pep is going to come out and be anything but positive about Grealish then I think you know you’re clutching at straws.
Pep is always positive about his players, but you can tell when he’s really happy with a player, he really goes to town. Describing Sterling as “sensational” or Bernardo as the leagues best player.
Our best result in the CL came without Grealish, we lost two games out of the 5 he started and he was dreadful in Brugge.
So again, I’d suggest that Pep’s just trying to keep his chin up. Rightly so.
