The more I see of grealish. The more I think that he lacks the quick passing game of foden or silva. He just dosent see the game quick enough.
I think we have to give him till next season before we judge him. I remember Cancello being crap for quite a while till he found his feet in the team.
Yes Grealish is reminding me of Rodney Marsh when we bought him he just didn't fit.
But let's give him time.

Our best result in the CL came without Grealish, we lost two games out of the 5 he started and he was dreadful in Brugge.
It is simply not true.

1 "Our best result in the CL came without Grealish"
He only missed one CL game which was home game against PSG. KDB and Foden also missed that game. Can we say "our best result in the CL came without KDB/Foden?"

BTW PSG is a better team but I will rate away game vs Brugge actually the best game in the group stage.

2:
"We lost 2 games out of 5 he started" so what?

We lost BOTH games when Sterling started in CL and won all the rest. Does it mean Sterling is the reason we lost? Certainly not!

The real reason is - In both games City ran not as much as City used to do. Clearly Pep gave the permission to the players to preserve the energy and lower the requirement of intensity. Because all the players did so.

3:
"He was dreadful in Brugge"

Grealish was not dreadful in away game in Brugge. He created chances and executed the plan well. Created big chances for Sterling when he was moved into midfield when Sterling came on. He could have the opener goal if the referee was consistent on that night.

si.com player rating with review "Jack Grealish - 7 One of City's most often-involved players. Looked great whenever he chose to run at his full-back and I wish he'd do it more."

He might not be the brightest star on the pitch that night (Phil was) but certainly not "dreadful".

In all I am quite astonished by your bias against Grealish.

There’s 2 posters showing bias regards Grealish.. You are one of them. Total lack of objectivity.

The discussion regards the CL is in direct response to the other unapologetic fan boy. Claiming Pep genuinely thinks Grealish was a key part of our CL progression. He wasn’t. as I say, our best result & performance came without him. We lost 2 of his 5 starts. These are facts not opinion or bias. What any other player did or didn’t do is 100% irrelevant.

He played his part, literally no more.

You’re right though he was ok in Brugge. It was the home leg he was bloody awful and made their right back k look like a peak Thuram. Being hauled on the hour.

My “bias” against Grealish is nothing more than believing he’s not doing very well for us. We’ve had our best run of form without him. My bias is then surely confirmed by the fact I repeatedly say I’ve believe he’s a talented boy who’ll likely improve a lot..

Pep reckons when teams don’t want to play and put 10 men in the box ,it’s so difficult.it made me think ( apart from the howler against wolves) maybe we are a bit harsh on Jack, as , when he played for villa, teams played and attacked, gave him space to play and score, he has never had so many teams using 10 man defence before, so he has to get used to it, may need the season and hopefully we can see the best of him next year

Are you saying our best run of results isn’t our best run of results?
You said “best run of form”, which is a different thing for one and for two, as others pointed out, during that 5 from 5, we were also missing Foden. Does that make him shite also?

Yes, it was/is our best run of form. I’ve also said it’s not just because Grealish was out.

I think we look a quicker more cohesive attacking unit without Grealish. Or perhaps we look better with an inform Sterling.

Foden played in the Derby. But my point is in response to the Grealish fan boys.
