Remain upright , dont go over on the spot every time a player goes up to you , play with the ball, pass it , stop slowing everything to a stop , that is not us , i honestly dont think he has it in him to play our way
Amusingly, I think you will find many, many football fans say that about Sterling, especially when (as a right footer) he plays on the left.
In fact, for quite a while now, Sterling has been seen as a diver by many observers.
Whether Grealish can become “a City player” or not next season remains to be seen. Clearly, his “standard” statistical output (G/A) has been poor while Pep tries to integrate him. Next season is clearly going to be a “make or break” season for him at City, as attacking positions become even more difficult to nail down.
You already know that I think Sterling’s technical prowess is not of the quality required for City to give him a new, top pay, contract. I think he runs down blind alleys, often without control of the ball. I think he lacks the presence under pressure to be a City forward.
None of this will change your opinion, and it would take some sustained improvement in those areas to change mine. That’s not going to happen, imho.
To be fair, Sterling has worked his socks off in recent games, and his attitude cannot be questioned. My concern is ability, in this team, to be a starting forward going forward. I don’t think he has it… you do! :-)
The jury is out on Grealish for now. He shows flashes, rarely gives the ball away, but isn’t having anything like the effect he needs to be having on our attacking intent. That has to change.
