If the result made one thing clear it's that Villa fans are extremely rattled (as if we didn't know that already). The way they're talking about him you'd think he just missed a last minute penalty in the CL final. those poor souls.

I agree ultimately that will be Phil’s best position but currently he’s not looked ready and I think Grealish can control the tempo of a game better. Phil can continue to be explosive and produce his magic a bit further forward for another year or 2.

Grealish isnt as good as Foden. Grealish wont win the FKs he did at villa, we saw that today. But because Pep spent a foetune on him he will play more than Foden and get the better position. We saw the same with Mahrez.
 
Like I said at the end of last season after watching him a few times, he is talented enough..
 
Daily Mail headline saying 'underwhelming cameo where he gave ball away SEVEN times in 25 minutes' . Can't say I noticed. He was positive on the ball and takes risks like KDB. Not a fault in my book. As another said earlier, watch Grealish no longer gets frees now he's in City blue. Will he still be 'the most fouled' or will he be 'cunningly buying frees' now? Jack's gonna be a star for us and I can't wait to see what this season has in store for him. Bernardo looked lively. Hope he stays, a role in the middle more likely for him as we have Jack, Raz, Riyad, Phil, Ferran and now Palmer to fill the spots out wide.

So because he didn’t get a free kick today you think he won’t get many simply because he plays for City? I agree Foden has more potential and God given talent and could end up our best ever but at the moment Grealish will dictate a game better in my opinion. I think Pep sees that in him and we’ll find out if that is correct this season.

Not sure where Mahrez comes into it but he’s been in fantastic form for a long time now and is also a brilliantly natural footballer.
 
Give him the freedom we afford KDB and he will be an absolute star.

Might take a month, a year or even two... but given the chance, he will be one of our best.

Foden’s breakthrough season last year and player of the tournament award in the u17 World Cup came in wide positions; he’s an incredible raw talent and will develop into one of the most dangerous, productive players in world football, so let’s let go of this David Silva 2.0 notion, and enjoy the player he is.

Grealish has the natural elegance and football IQ to control a midfield in a way that even KDB can’t, and will be the player we build around once everyone is fit.
 
Literally impossible to tell anything after a 25 min cameo after one training session. Was just good to see him in the kit and on the pitch.

Think i underestimated the star power he has tbh, him and foden are going to be a marketers dream.

i really hope you are right, but lets see shall we, before you make him a club legend after 30mins.

I swear I have no idea where this hype comes from. Is it because he signed for us or was he hyped over the whole last season ? More football IQ than KDB - that’s a new one.

He’s got the ability to dictate the tempo of a game, just like David Silva. “Pausa”

He’s not had the managers to build his ability to do this yet. Pep can.

Whether he can take it on board is another matter, but he could be immense for us.
