10 | Jack Grealish - 2022/23 Performances

He, along with haaland raised the intensity in the first half as they were just settling into a dominant routine with a couple of presses and tackles high in their half. Came to absolutely nothing but really helped us wrestle back a bit of control during probably our most difficult period just before the rodri banger.

The problem with this is most people weren't doubting or not giving him a chance they were simply saying he wasn't doing enough or wasn't doing the right things which were all true, he wasn't. His current form is exactly what the "doubters" were asking for from him and is a million miles away from the grealish we saw last season and pre-world cup.

He's been superb since the turn of the year and hopefully this is the new standard from him

Thats not true.......many were saying he wasn't good enough,never was and never will be.There were more than a few who had clearly never watched him at Villa and were more than happy to judge him from what hey ha seen in the media and the perceived extortionate price tag

Anyway......none of that matters,because by hook or by crook he has proved what he is all about and no one can any longer be in any doubt.

Simply wonderful last night.

Spot on ... I don't think many doubted his ability. Just took him such a long time to realise that a big part of our game is to aggressively win the ball back and give it quickly whilst opposition out of shape. Without that he look turgid for a long time as he just received the ball, drew a defender and then rolled it back to our FB. He doesn't have the trickery of Mahrez so without his new found grit and effort we carried him for a long time. So the comments as you said Ninja are on the money

So that was why Grealish got his hair yanked.

He’s surprisingly popular on gossip forum Tattle. There’s over 100 threads on him and they call him Gucci.
 
What's Haaland's deal with creating a bond with English players? He clearly had a top relationship with Sancho a couple of years back. Then Bellingham. Now him and Grealish are clearly besties.

Can't help but feel sad that he didn't declare for England, considering he was born here. Him alongside the likes of Kane, Grealish, Foden, Saka, Rashford and Bellingham would be unreal, instead of the general mediocrity of Norway.
 
He plays with such joy, that's the thing too. Nice article on him now in The Guardian by a woman who went to the same school as Jack and had the same P.E. teacher.

City had their eye on Grealish for a while when he was at Villa, Pep knowing he could take a very good player and make him better. Wonder who the next one will be he's planning to do that with?

That does make it sound a little like it's her main claim to fame :)

She also has 144 caps for England women, and was one of the best female football players in the world during her career.
