Not starting again? Didn’t pep say he isn’t injured before the international break?

I fear it’s just not going to happen for the bloke and he’ll be sacked off.

It’s frustrating as when hes on it he’s got so much skill.

It's open season on walker atm so hes seemingly got away with the fact he basically passed Werner the ball and said there you go have a 4th on me.

Not the first time this season he's done that either. He did something almost identical against fulham not once but twice in the same game.

Nunes has shown he's a better option than grealish in all departments over the last month or so.

I doubt Pep will have missed it. Knocked the last bit of life out of an already deflated team

Akanji ducked out of the way. Should have headed it

I still say we try him out in midfield..

Outside of Rodri, I think he's the best player we have at shielding the ball and not losing it. He offers a lot of control.

He also carries the ball well when he has more space, which he doesn't get out wide

Conventional wisdom says he should be played in the middle but it's obviously Pep doesn't fancy him in the middle. Pep obviously knows much more than us, but I'd really love to hear from him about why he never tries it.

I’ve advocated this for a long time. I think Grealish and Nunes in the middle would at least bring a bit of guile and energy between now and the transfer window.

But it simply won’t happen.

Why? Because if Pep isn’t one million per cent confident in your ability he plays you on the wing.

Did it with Foden for years. Does it with Jack, does it with Nunes, and will probably do it with any signings or academy products who are natural central midfielders until they somehow pass the test.

This is it now for me, he has to try and stay completely injury free for rest of season, to either get himself in the shop window or become a star and play the best he ever has, to put what has been an indifferent career with us to date.

Step it up now lad please, prove your worth

Play him in the middle. I have been saying it for years. I don’t understand why he’s never had a chance. We are in a desperate situation and he is a central midfielder. We bought him because he played well in the middle of the park and then we’ve fucked him off onto the wing.

If he gets his chance to play in the middle then it’s sink or swim for him.

You can only play Grealish in the boiler room, especially in the League, if he is fully fit, and he is currently nowhere near that. He’s only played 90 minutes for us twice this season (Internazionale/Watford) yet somehow has played 90 minutes twice for England, and he hasn’t managed more than three full games back-to-back in the League since December ‘23. The League is where players build stamina and find rhythm, so even in this ridiculously long season, I can’t see him offering much more than appearances on the wing.

Couldn’t agree more mate. Been saying it for years myself.
