Been crying out to see him played centrally and tonight showed why. Completed almost every pass, brought calmness and composure to the middle, and let the more potent players in front of him win us the game. It's where he belongs. His ability to keep the ball and read the game is wasted out wide.

There was one moment, I think early second half, where we were all fucking about at the back and nearly gifted them a chance, Jack recovered the ball and could have just kept the madness going by playing a risky pass to Haaland, but he just collected it, turned round, let the team regain shape, and then restarted play. Exactly what we've been crying out for of late.

Calmness, strength, positional nous, unselfish, contributes defensively and can pick a pass.

Out of practice and rhythm both in midfield and generally so surely there's lots more to come. Hope he stays fit and keeps getting the opportunities.

To be fair, it's not like we needed him as CM in any of the previous seasons. And in this season, Jack has been barely available. I would say it took Pep 2-3 matches where Jack was fully fit to put him as CM. And hopefully, that will continue.

I really liked his performance tonight. There were glimpses of Villa Jack in there. He is a player I wanted for us when I first became aware of him in the 2020 LC final v Villa. Got stuck in and was tenacious for them, let's hope Pep let's him continue in the middle. That performance tonight will have done his confidence a lot of good.
