10 | Jack Grealish - 2024/25

Lets forget Grealish was MOTM (voted by City) away vs Real Madrid and directly contributed in 2 goals. He won the critical foul to ban reals only DM backup which gave City a huge advantage for the 2nd leg.

And for the 2nd leg by no means he played badly in the first 60 minutes. The others especially Foden played his worst game on that night.

I agree to let him move asap but it is silly to rewrite the history.

I wrote 'in the 2nd leg' for a reason. Apart from a short period around Palace away and Real away in April, he was largely inefficient. We were toothless with him at the Etihad.

And our fans voted Ake (wonderful squad player) better than Rodri (up there with the best players in the world) and Gundogan in the Treble season. Emotions, biases, etc. come into play when people vote for player of the match or the season.

Just making a brief return to posting in this thread because it's technically not about his City performances, which I'm bored of discussing with people on here and won't engage with anymore.

It sounds like Grealish had been training with City the past few days but wasn't ready to play yet, so we requested that England didn't call him up. I imagine we did the same with Aké, Dias, etc. who haven't gone with their national teams over the break. This was probably all agreed with Pep too.

But then it turns out Jack's been called up after all because, for one reason or another, Lee Carsley believes Jack might be ready for that home game against Ireland in nine days. Jack might have given this indication to England over the phone, or City's physios might have given this indication, but Pep clearly wasn't in the know.

Part of me suspects Jack's had some time off after the birth of his child, and has been in London for a bit. He's probably been carrying a knock as well. There was talk of him having to suddenly go to London for the birth, so his girlfriend isn't up in Manchester currently and has been living down south with her family while pregnant.

If Jack doesn't feature at all for England against Greece but then plays Ireland when they're back at Wembley, that would add a bit of weight to the theory that he's down there. Which I think is fair enough, but it sounds like there's been a bit of confusion as to when and where he's supposed to be at the moment. Will all get sorted one way or another.

I thought MOTM was voted by City officials not fans? And the PL one was voted by online fanbase? (Correct me if I am wrong)

Funny he’s in London at the same time he’s being linked to a move to Spurs

I was watching ‘the big 6’ on YouTube last night.
Big Steve is on there and he was saying from what he’s heard Jacks not injured, when quizzed further by the Liverpool fan Steve said I’ll tell you later.
Something's going on, especially if he plays for England.
it'll be the drinking rumours.

Google it, probably rubbish reports tbf.

My opinion on Grealish is that he’s not suited to our system playing out wide, especially when we have to attack against buses every week.

He’s most dangerous on the break attacking centrally, at Villa, he’d drift in centrally and create a lot of chances on the break, and his goals would come from a central position as well.

He’s played very well centrally for England recently. I think before we get rid of him, why not roll the dice in our current injury hit predicament and give him a chance through the middle ?

He has to put City first. No matter how keen he is to play for England.
We pay his wages and if it is true that he is joining up against our wishes his City career could well be over.

Heard something similar earlier today, but it didn't register till now and I am still not sure if is legit. Someone even said, we should aim for a swap deal for Van De Ven.
