I think the PL may have moved on from Jack's style of play . Keep up or get out of the way .
It really hasn't. He is perfectly capable of cutting inside and utilizing an overlapping full back but our movement in the middle is so stagnant that there isn't any space for him to run in to nor is anyone making diving runs beyond the back line for him to put a ball through.

No. I just think it shows just how far he has fallen down the pecking order. Strange though because he started the Real Madrid game really well before he went off and yet despite the game crying out for a free kick here or there to slow it down, he is brought on very late. To be fair to Foden he did the free kick job really well.

No. Mcatee is offering more so he's deservedly higher up the pecking order. He also came on, on the right winger, a position grealish doesn't play. Grealish doesn't need some cryptic message to know he ain't doing enough to play.
Not sure about McAtee offering more since he’s been fairly anonymous in a good share of his recent appearances.

I don't disagree with that description of mcatee, it's a criticism I've offered on him too but he's still got 6 goals for us this season. that's already equal to grealish's best ever return for us in a season and he's got that in the equivalent of about 7/8 full games.
At least 4 of those goals were inconsequential by coming at times where we had pretty much guaranteed wins already (at 4-0 against Salford and at 3-0 against Newcastle).
Sure he didn’t do anything for goals in 2024, but at least Grealish has already been getting more involved in that regard in the last couple months against PSG, Orient and Madrid.

Thought the 70th minute for Kovacic was a good time to try it, but we really needed to capitalize on our chances in the first half for Pep to probably be at least a little comfortable with it.
Against Madrid too apparently.

You can't criticise him for scoring when the game is already won if he's only coming on when the game is already won. What else is he supposed to do? He's making an impact, that's ultimately what all subs want to do, especially youngsters trying to break in and he's consistently doing so. he's deservedly pushed himself ahead of Grealish.
I’m not criticizing him for scoring, I’m just saying there’s context to consider. Given how he’s let games pass him by and pretty much has made us play like we’re a man down, he shouldn’t be ahead of Grealish who offers us much more than just goals.
