If he has a drink problem then the club needs to be much more proactive in taking care of him, from the perspective of employee welfare as well as protecting an expensive asset and managing public perceptions. Of course he has the money to pay for any help he needs, and you really can only do so much for someone who doesn't want to be helped, but there is a duty of care there.

If he doesn't have a drink problem and this was a club-approved day off, which would make sense given the time until the next match, then Jack or someone who works for him (or failing that, once again the club) needs to take a minute to think about discretion and ways to keep his social life out of the view of media and public who will always assume the worst.

He clearly has something going on in his personal life, with his talk of off-field problems and how difficult last year was. And of course he's having trouble with his fitness, which you'd think would drive a holistic approach to health and wellness that would surely include cutting down on alcohol.

It was a thing for his brother's birthday so I get why he wanted to go and that the club would feasibly be okay with it. But switching a few beers to soft drinks, and the public venue to something behind closed doors, would have been a wiser choice. It all being so public just invites scrutiny and criticism.

Never held it against him or any other player, they're all entitled to a life outside of their job in my eyes and what they do there is of no concern to us as long as it doesn't interfere. However, you do see loads of professional athletes that don't even touch alcohol whilst they're pro's as they want to maximise their potential and they tend to be supremely fit players making the most of their talent. Not a description that would fit grealish and peps repeatedly called out his lack of fitness recently.

We can't say him going on the lash is responsible for him not being fit or being in decent form but if any of us are regularly unable to do their job for whatever reason and they're often spotted on the piss during the same time, we'd be expecting to have to answer some questions when back at work. It's just a braindead idea.

If it's once in a while you dismiss it as nothing but it's becoming increasingly more common, he's been spotted smashed out of his face more than he's been seen celebrating scoring a goal over the last year. Hasn't he also got a newborn at home? At the very least, It's a really poor PR look for somebody who promotes himself as a brand.

Get him over to The Swamp ; when young Marcus returns from Villa, I'm sure he & Jack will get on well.
Get on the phone to Agent 007Mar , tell him to make this happen.

Let’s wait for the usual apologists…

He’s a fucking disgrace and needs fucking off out of the club, asap.
The Grealish fanboys, bots, and apologists will flood in with excuses faster than high-frequency traders on Wall Street—scurrying, screeching, and scrambling for cover. And trust me, their mental gymnastics? Not just Olympic-level—these people are out here doing 10D quantum backflips, bending logic like Neo dodging bullets in The Matrix. They are inventing new laws of physics just to twist reality in Grealish’s favor.

I've moved through industries, crossed paths with manipulators, sales sharks, lobbyists and corporate spin-doctors. I’ve met different type of hustlers, strategists, and corporate sharks—corporate suits, street-level grinders, and high-level thinkers. I’ve watched politicians lie to millions with a straight face, twisting words like a speech impediment, seen defense attorneys turn cold-blooded killers into misunderstood saints. But nothing—NOTHING—compares to the reality-warping, logic-twisting, history-erasing and editing insanity of Grealish's die-hard worshippers.

These people don’t argue; they perform. It’s a circus act—high-flying goalpost shifting, double-twist deflections, and full-scale reality denial that would make Orwell himself choke on his tea. It’s mental contortionism on a supernatural level. Show them facts? They close their eyes. Show them stats? They cry "context!" Show them reality? They simply reject it.

No matter how clear the truth is, they will build an entire multiverse of excuses, shifting goalposts with the agility of a prime Messi dribbling through defenders.

And when they’re out of moves? When every excuse has been obliterated? That’s when they hit you with the final boss-level gaslighting: 'You just don’t understand football.' Ah yes, the last refuge of the defeated—pretending you’re the one who just doesn’t "get it."

There is no discussion. There is no reasoning. You’re not debating with people—you’re fighting against a belief system, a cult, a religion where Grealish is their false prophet and reality is their greatest enemy. You don’t convince them. You just let them be, Grealish will continue to be Grealish, unprofessional, overhyped, overprotected, wildly overpriced, and perpetually underperforming against a bar that’s already been set so low it’s practically underground.

You're a very good writer mate... even those who don't agree with you would have to admit that. :)

Lol, I’d have to disagree with that. I’m not exactly known for my writing or consider myself as one—most of the time, I just get the words out to make my point and move on. It’s not about style or polish, just about getting through it. Maybe right now, I think I’m just in a temporary flow state, something that hasn’t happened in years. Maybe it’s the work I’ve been focused on lately—the momentum/focus from that just transferred into what I wrote here. I honestly don't know.

My daughter in law saw him in there 18 months ago. Said he was a nice lad, but pissed!
The more i read about him of late, the more angry i get at the club.

We can't afford to be sponsoring a piss head.

Pep is very firm about what you do on your days off is up to you. Sadly, some players think that actually means LITERALLY anything you want.

You’ll notice the PROs he discusses and admires. He talks about their professionalism, their level of commitment, etc… Grealish has English Lad disease…too much money and not enough piss to spend it on in the allotted time!

He may be the nicest guy in the world to a Make-A-Wish child, but he’s being paid over £1M PER MONTH to be a professional at the very highest levels of the game for the few short years he has left as a top pro and he simply can’t pull it off!

It’s a sad waste of time, money and talent, but one day he’ll wake up and have his moment of self-reflection and should be very disappointed in himself.

Then again, one wonders if he’s smart enough for such a feat, as he’s the epitome of the dumb footballer, and seems to enjoy being the idiot!

He's not happy here, that's the truth. Let him go for his own wellbeing and also for the good of the team.

Not everyone is cut out for the type of discipline required to be in a Pep team, Ibra once referred to his Barcelona team mates as naive virgin schoolboys all because they were obedient to Pep instructions, interestingly Ibra also said he lost his "identity" there and got it back the moment he left Barcelona.

With certain players it's all about them holding on to a perceived identity that they have of themselves. Jack has a 90s era bad boy, ladies man, "carpe diem" personality and Pep's demand to shed that off has him in a difficult situation, you can clearly see Jack is having an internal conflict and it's only going to get worse the more he stays here. Let him go at the end of the season. Take whatever comes in and call it a day.

Badly advised / helped I think as well, I mean were is his dad, I know he's a grown man but help is needed at lots of times, he's a Gazza MK2, just not as good on the pitch, but probably as good in the drinking stakes.

Needs to be dropped completely, injuries or not, and flog him at the earliest opportunity for whatever they can get back

Enough is enough. We can’t carry passengers or those who aren’t in this 100%. He needs to be gone and the sooner the better.
Sadly I agree. I love Jack but if these latest videos & reports are true he’s got to go.

Such a shame he’s doing this to him self, lost my respect for him now & shows why pep not playing him

Take. A. Bow. About time someone said it like it’s been the last 12 months. Sooner Grealish is sold the better. Complete waste of resources.
