His personality gets him a pass a lot of the time, if he was a bit of a knob he would have been hounded out ages ago probably. He's clearly a decent guy but he isn't anywhere near good enough

I really don't understand many on here who put Grealish before the club, I find that strange and very wrong.

He's a great lad, a likeable character but an attacking player that has scored 1 goal in a calendar year, that is simply pathetic and inexcusable.

Compare his stats to Alvarez , a player who incredibly was not rated by many, Alvarez despite a huge 80m fee received has been a huge loss, I wish we could go back in time and have kept him.

You repeatedly post as a rag would on this. It's a complete nonsense and total cop out to say he only played well during the treble season and there was this MASSIVE differential in performance before and after.

Grealish has started 1 PL defeat in the last 2 seasons. He has started 1 FA cup defeat in 4 seasons here.

City have won more when Grealish played and lost more when he didn't over his 4 seasons here. I'll take City's results over your goal and assist fetish every day in what is a team sport.

And clearly in what was a complete team effort that regularly involved pinning the opposition back on the edge of their area, Grealish played in a team which won 3 Premier Leagues, 1 Champions League, 1 FA Cup, 1 UEFA Super Cup and 1 FIFA Club World Cup in his first 3 seasons.

Given your stance of denigrating Grealish's contribution over and over and over again and that you don't seem to particularly respect our CL winning team, when do you think we will next win the CL (given it's quite likely he will be leaving)?

Lewis already gets it in the match threads. It's City fans' way; we love a scapegoat. Sterling, Mahrez (the FFS didn't start off as jokey "bantz"), then go back to Edghill. And way back in the days of B&W telly and the wireless, Corrigan's first spell in goal for us.

When you look at the results we've had this season and the performances in the middle of the park, you can't help but imagine what it would have been like had we played footballers who can still run. Grealish is one of those.

I've said it before that this is an absolutely weird thread.
We are champions, four-peat winners, and centurions. There is not a single player in this squad that should carry the negativity from the fanbase that Jack does: not one. If you are feverish in your distaste for any player within this squad, to the extent where your posts repeatedly condemn them, then you need to question your own thoughts. We are blessed to have had the players we have had, and when many of them depart at the end of this season, which I am sure they will, they should leave with best wishes and warmth for all they have given. We have been, quite possibly, the greatest team that the English game has witnessed.

Bosnians and Algerians (with Mahrez and Dzeko), certainly. That seemed to be a national pride thing, though. I can't say that I've seen any posts cheering on a City player solely because he's English/Scottish/Spanish/Argentinian/wherever. But let's say for now that there are such posts on here (stayting that Jack is more important than the club). That being the case, they're wrong. The club is bigger than any player, past or present; Jack, Rodri, Haaland, Kev, Merlin, Samaras, Dabo, Sibierski etc etc. Players come and players go; the club will always be here. Since then he has had decent games but a lot where he simply has not grown and become a leader in this side.

Last summer he was in my opinion rightly dropped from the national side much to his regret, I really thought he would come back after a full preseason (unlike most of his teammates) and be fired up and take his place in our side and show England and Southgate just what they missed, sadly he has had a shockingly bad season.

I like his character and he has superb ability but I have and always will argue he does not have the mentality or self belief to be a permanent fixture in an elite side, the lack of self belief is incredible for such a talented footballer.

His cameo in the second half in the FA Cup game at Bournemouth sums up his time with us, superb technic, great personality but his reluctance to shoot and take responsability in goal scoring positions was so sad to see, he could and should have score at least two goals.

That's not what I asked you, but thanks anyway. As I said, I'm happy to be proved wrong re any posts stating that Jack comes before the club. If they're on here, please show me. I'd love to reply to them, pointing out that they're wrong. And re his time with us, it's been generally disappointing. Not too many arguments from me on that point. But while he's still a City player, I'll support him.
