So, there's the whole £100m price tag playing on people's minds.

Okay. Jack has won the PL 3 times, the prize money for winning the PL is roughly £57m. Do the maths.
Then you have winning the FA Cup. And the Champions League, possibly £80-100m just for that (Not including the other subsequent season he appeared in that he helped the club qualify for...as champion, no less). Add the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World cup, plus his appearances and advertising fees and basically...

...shut the fuck up, you fake Blue, social media, value obsessed Raggy cunts.
Is he your brother or something, some weird obsession with defending him from the indefensible, he’s been a let down. That’s what he’ll be remembered for.

I’ve been critical of Jack in conversation with fellow blues and always defend the lad to any non blues. I personally don’t think he’s ever been good enough for us, but understood his role and job in the team during the treble season. He was selfless and his position in the team was key to getting the best out of De Bruyne, Gundogan etc.

This and last season, he’s looked a shadow of himself. Today though I felt for him, he’s a player that needs games to find form. To just lob him in today was never going to get the best out of him.

All players need game time to build match fitness and most - some more than others - need it to build rhythm before they can perform at their best.

Unfortunately this season - whether due to injuries, fitness, tactics or something else - Jack's gone long periods without getting on the pitch for any significant amount of time.

So he's rusty as hell, has no rhythm and his fitness has dropped.

Considering that and being given a surprise start in a semi-final against a decent opponent, I thought he did okay. His impact on the match dropped noticeable and he became visibly more tired as the match went on. This is entirely in-keeping with how little and infrequently he's been playing.

He still has a good touch, a nice pass, keeps things ticking over and is an unselfish team-mate. But players don't tend to shine in such a stop-start season.

There's a part of me that wants him to stay because the talent is there, I think we can get more out of him and he's clearly much-liked by his colleagues. But he'll probably leave, and if he does I hope it's to somewhere where he gets that regular game-time he clearly needs.

By you, you don't speak for every fan fella. Some have a weird obsession attacking him. He played as a false 9 and therefore had the forest defence around him all game. All the front 3 had similar problems and that's why they didn't have much room to play in.
I swear some of you don't understand the game and think football is like Roy Race and Melchester fucking Rovers:-)

We play well and seem to win more when he's in the team, hes won shit loads over the last few years because he contributes to the overall team pattern. One of the best coaches in the world has played him plenty, maybe he knows more than you.

He’s good but he’s no Paco Diaz…

Just gobsmacked at the undue criticism a current player for City is receiving.

You seem to hate him a lot, like an obsessive amount. What did he do? Fuck your wife or something?

Jack was solid today & considering he hadn’t played many minutes for a long time, he did well.
We’ve had so many great players over the last 12 years the bar is high & some fans expectations are somewhat unrealistic but Jack would walk into any other team.

This thread was always going to be active as Rico had a good game.
Really strange that he got picked today out of nowhere. For all those that cry for him to play centrally today proved why he can’t. He’s lost playing in the middle. He doesn’t know how to get himself into the game. I would say however that he’s our best option on the left. When he plays on the left he’s constantly involved and he impacts the game. Today has finished him as a City player.
