The use of Jack Grealish is one of the things that irk me about Pep - and I am coming here as a well wisher of Man City rather than a Pep
You have been given a 100 million pound worth of an asset. You have to use it.
How do you use it - well you get paid some 25 million a year to find a solution.

Can’t go on spending 170 in January when we can’t use our existing players properly.
He is not using the January ones either, even Marmoush is not used properly. Looked miles better for Frankfurt and clearly has the ability.

anyone had doubt before now its clear that Grealish is done at City. not coming on in a game like this.
how is his skill wining freekicks not important now? not even that is rated by Pep anymore...
even a freekick would have been more danger than the aimless nothing passes between Akanji, KDb, Dias etc.

Pep marked his card well and truly with the subs today especially echeverri. Jack was excellent in the semi as well. Shame

At this point, we can only hope he moves on for footballing reasons, or his career is over and he can kiss the World Cup goodbye forever, because he’ll be too old next time around.

If we can get €60M for him, I’d take your hand off.

He wasn't excellent. He was average ro be fair. He is like Foden. Love both, but neither has earned the right to play, and when they have it hadn't made much of a difference.

Pep has made many bone headed decisions this season. Not playing Jack or Phil aren't one of them.

I still believe we are a better team with him in it. However it looks like it's not good.
We've switched to a team focused on people running with the ball for some reason, and Jack's strength (along with Bernardo and Foden) is that intricate interplay around the edge of the box. Nowadays, it seems to be all about giving it to someone and hoping they'll take on the entire defence themselves.

don’t know what happened but there must be something that pep didnt like about him at all. His career at City should be now over.

yep. major reason why the squad is such a mess.

Hit nail on head with our approach to break teams down. Pass ball side to side until Doku or Sav decide its time to dribble past 2/3 players and put a cross in.
The amount of times balls between the lines to Marmoush and then Echeverri were ignored was comical.

A sad end.

And not his fault, good luck Jack
So who's fault is it then? Are you trying to imply that Jack wasn't given enough chances here? I would never understand how fans would tear down the likes of Sterling and Mahrez who gave their all and contributed immensely and then build up a player like Jack to god-like status, I really don't get it

How many goals did he score in the last 12 months again?
If there was ever a social experiment that proves that the heart wants what it wants, it has to be this thread, because how on earth are people talking about "oh we needed goals and we didn't bring Jack in?", has he been known for scoring goals or creating assists? Where is this logic coming from?

A fair point. Not saying he’s going to solve all problems.

I just think it’s strange that in the last 2 games he’s not got any minutes when we needed a goal.

Played in semi final. What’s happened since then? ( perhaps not doing it in training etc)

The stupid thing is that when Jack first joined, that was exactly the sort of player he was, but it was trained out of him.
