Can’t pass comment on his performance when we can’t get the ball into an area he can operate in effectively

His inability to hold onto the ball when we did get it into him was problematic though. Also, Cancelo played a great cross in the first half that the Agüero of a couple of seasons ago would have got onto. He didn't even move for it

At that level of fitness, he is a passenger. One sprint in all the game., no movement.
How he gets match fit without intense movement I don't know.
Delap needs to be given a chance.

Sergio is world class..

But right now - when even West Ham seems to be a difficult opponent and we can't create enough moments, playing Sergio is a luxury we can't afford.

He should be played when other 10 players are able to do their jobs properly and deliver assists or key passes to him.

When it's like war and fights and physical duels - Sergio has no value there..

Today Foden and Gabriel Jesus can contribute more as a False 9 than Sergio, because they can run and fight more, that's the reality..

been out for a long time, and is older now so it's natural to expect a drop-off. The quicker we got the ball forward the more alive he and Raz were early on, it's the team not working together to create passing channels and Garcia, Rodri and Gundogan dallying on the ball especially in the first half rather than being ambitious and playing it earlier. We gave away the ball more in previous games here but it showed attacking intent and ambition with our passing which is what makes the difference in these games.

He won't be the star this season but he'll make a decent contribution.

Can run about for the first 10-15 minutes, after which he slows down and has to drift into midfield, where he’s too easy to press and gives the ball away. When his pressing drops off, so does that of Sterling and Mahrez, which then leaves Bernardo and Foden doing the leg work for too many.

Hard to see anything more than a staccato season for him, with the occasional cameo to remind us of better times

Sergio is at the point in his career where he is almost solely a box player now. The days of him consistently picking the ball up deep, or out wide and delivering something out of the ordinary are probably over. He can still be deadly in the opposition box and score 20+ goals but he will now depend far more on the quality of service he receives. At the moment he will get no service. Sterling and Mahrez create the grand total of fuck all. The way we are currently playing, I would say that Jesus is a bigger miss than this legend of the club.

There will be many that don’t realise it yet, but Sergio is no longer athletic enough for us at the level we want to play at. His body doesn’t allow him to be the force he was. He’s not totally finished as a player, there will be a team/league that can still use him, but he’s as good as finished as a force in this City team, in terms of the way we need to play to be competitive. All he can do now is stand in the box and hope something comes to him. But let’s be real, we need more than that to play the high press we want to. We will hold onto him for 2 years longer than we ought to though, you can be sure of that. It’s what we do!

Exactly. Absolutely criminal not to go big for striker this summer.

Instead the board decided to fucking gamble that we can squeeze out one more good year out of Aguero. Why we never are proactive, when we can with our resources?

Nothing wrong keeping quality player in his mid 30s, but that requires long term replacement brought in advance at least 1 year earlier. We never do this.
