Due warning, this is actually a decent piece from the BBC

BBC News - Man Utd 1-6 Man City: Remembering day at Old Trafford that changed face of football in Manchester

It is indeed. I was struck by it. Quite equitable, and tells the truth (for once). Don't know who the journalist is, maybe it's because he's not one of the usual suspects who are on their knees before the twin red idols.

I was in a bar in France, doing my absolute nut. The lone blue, but I'm used to that — quite like it in fact. Like being one of the Spartans at Thermopylae.
There were a few plastic rags in there (French, obvs.) and, to be fair, two or three Brits who were rags who always propped up the bar. They simply couldn't believe what they were seeing. They had just assumed that United would win, for ever and ever and ever. After all, they had grown up with it.
It's been hard for that set of fans, these last ten years (demonic cackle…)
Didn't see them around very often after that, and they stopped coming altogether. Wonder why…
Ferguson was one of the first to see the tide turning, to be fair to him (for once). He knew that the writing was on the wall. I always felt that the ‘noisy neighbours’ comment was the comment of a man who'd got the wind up.
