I disagree slightly with the premise that this marked the start of a power shift. For me, that was the FA Cup semi final victory.

To an extent, but giving them such a beating on their own patch was a wake-up call for the world to take notice. Walking back to the coach park after the match the rag fans that had stayed to the bitter end could scarcely manage any abuse, they were so shell-shocked.
