Yes, he was terrible, but who the hell wasn't?

It didn't help that the worst player on the pitch in Walker was behind him, either.

Even then, I thought he had a few good moments—more than Grealish.

Gave the ball away too much, but not as awful as people are saying, IMO. The whole team was bad, and he tried to make something happen. Won us one free-kick in the dangerous area, a couple of dribbling's, but obviously it wasn't his best day. I think he thrives when we are in control, and today we were not. More of an impact sub as it stands.

Thought he was shite and rightly dragged off at half time

No issues with him coming on to change a game, but yet to see him start a game and play particularly well, Bournemouth game aside

He's a great player to have on the pitch when you're dominating the ball, because he can create a dangerous attack out of nothing. He's not - yet - the player you want on the pitch working to create that dominance.

Some moments are begging for a risk to be taken. Some moments are begging for a foot on the ball, a deep breath, relieving some pressure and stringing a few passes together. Doku's a young player trying to make his mark on the team and right now he's mistaking too many of the latter scenarios for the former.

When you bring a young player to a top team in a competitive league, you know you're going to get inconsistencies in both decision-making and quality of execution.

He's a work in progress and this season is teaching him a lot.
