Doku is Riyad‘s replacement.

Yeah, but Palmer's chances would have still been more limited with us signing another attacking player. I know he's (Doku) competing largely with Grealish.

Doku is Riyad‘s replacement.
I keep hearing this but I don't understand why. Mahrez was non-dynamic and more about retaining the ball on the right wing and Doku is dynamic on the left wing, whilst also being ambidextrous. I don't understand the comparison.

The way he squares up to the defenders with pace is mad, he’s perfectly balanced while he’s doing it as well. If he works on his end product ever so slightly and releases the ball a bit quicker he’ll be world class. Could have easily had a several more assists with the amounts he’s been getting into the box.

Anyone got any stats for his chance creation?

When he signed this summer, I saw his interview and immediately felt that he was a player with extremely excellent qualities. Even though his first game was very restrained, I still have high confidence in him. And now, all I have to do is cross my heart and pray that he doesn't get hurt every time he holds the ball and attacks.

Played 10mins and completed 6 take-ons(the most of anyone in the Champs League today).. Actually fucking insane how good he is at taking the ball past people
It‘s mad. No one can read him. Defenders are left flat footed as they can’t tell which way he’s going to go.

If his final action improves consistently, we could have an absolute superstar on our hands.

Klopp is not that stupid. Even against midtablw teams he protects him. Talk less playing City. Especially with a new exciting young dribbler.

I'll bet my house he is never left 1 v 1 vs Trent.

It's a given that two people will be marking Haaland, if two more are on Doku then it doesn't leave many to pick up Foden, Alvarez or Bernardo.

He's different to Riyad but he was a wide player that we sold and we bought Doku. We didn't spend £50m to replace Cole Palmer, we promoted Oscar Bobb and brought in Nunes.

Kova replaced Gundo.

Josko replaced Ayme.

What an awesome player. Every time he gets the ball you expect something to happen. Really excited to see how he progresses this season. He seems a really good character as well - especially when he squared up to that horrible creature Antony.
