Pep and co were telling the rest to use that side - just use him. He took that ball upfield time after time. Every time he gets the ball he takes two to three defenders - they can't always stop him attacking and anyway he ensures city nearly always keep the ball. That side of his game, his retention looked almost on a par with Grealish today.
 
His decision making has not improved one bit. How do you not take that shot after dribbling around three players. Its as if he decides randomly whether to shoot or pass. And his chemistry with Haaland is non existant.

But I think his stamina has improved. Hes more energetic than last year. And his strength in shielding the ball is unreal. You just can't push him off the ball. Get it together please JD.
 
Based on the cameo from Savinho, he has about 5 games to produce some end product or he will be relegated to an impact sub. It is baffling how he can create so little with the positions he gets in at times.

If you could transplant Kevin's brain into him at the vital moment he would get 30 assists a season.
 
90 minutes of running. Stamina is much better this season.

Put in a hell of a shift. Still that final action! If it improves, he’d be Messi!
 
Superb second half. Got us space and took the sting out of it so many times (which was exactly what was needed at that point). Strong as an ox. Still a lot to be done but he was solid to rely on today when we needed him

He's similar to robben the way he cuts inside. If he adds decision making wow what a player
 
I think Grealish must not be fully fit, because if he were Doku probably would have been taken off after an hour.

But it's a good thing he wasn't, because it allowed Doku to play through some rough moments and he was on fire by the end.

He's not going to learn and improve from the bench, he needs to make mistakes and have the opportunity to put them right.

Showed a real maturity to his game in the latter stages, retaining possession, picking his moments. Really good.
