11 | Jeremy Doku - 2024/25

He is our " marmite " player amongst supporters but most agree that his decision making needs to improve. This is a personal frustration, but others seem to agree.

He appears more of an impact player so far.

Otherwise he runs the risk of becoming our version of Adama Traore - all speed but no useful end product.

That is the crux of people's criticism

Couldn't care less about people's criticism, especially when it is myopic and fails to take into account the broader picture, e.g., that by being involved in the box you free space for other people and facilitate creation of chances. We created chances for 7-8 goals last night.

Also, remember, Doku was involved in goals vs Madrid, Chelsea, Spurs, United in the final months of last season, created chanced vs Liverpool too.

People are free to criticise as much as they want. Pep gives Doku plenty of chances for a reason.

From those touches an assist came and he almost got another. It's funny how people would say touches don't win games but then turn around and say Grealish controlled the game by passing back and side ways for the entire 90 minutes.

Different strokes for different situations .

Pep would appear to approve even if supporters don't.

Was great to see him terrorise them last night, constantly a threat. End product definitely needs work, but an excellent display.
I like Doku, he never hides and always shows for the ball, but the end product needs to improve a lot.

If it improves significantly, he would be a top 5 player in the world. Basically unplayable. Given he's only 22, it's not impossible.

Sometimes people seem to complain Doku isn't the best winger in the world. Well, he isn't. Might become one day or might not. Only time can tell.
