11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

Really really good. Grew into the game and consistently moved us up the pitch, won fouls & threatened. Considering how fucked he looked, I was surprised he wasn't subbed as part of the 3.

Phenomenal performance. Different to his usual game where he's relied upon to be the one to break down a low block by going by his man. His main role was getting us out and up the pitch, allowing us to build attacks or relieve pressure and he was sensational at it. Skinned his man, sometimes men, constantly and would win us freekicks when nothing was on but still posed a big threat and unlucky not to get something himself.

Simply doesn't have the lungs of an elite footballer. Thats what holds him back from being the best in the world. Thats the price of grooming him into a half pitch player and maximizing his strength for duel winning. I thought hes not a willing runner but hes simply not capable. Doesnt have the motor unfortunately. Imagine if he had that idiot Vini's energy and stamina. Best in the world
I don’t think he is helped by the fact everything we do comes from the left. Our right wing is so meh, he has to be involved in 90% of our attacks or we just don’t go anywhere. He doesn’t get a breather out on the pitch, which for him is especially problematic because he is all about being explosive over the first few yards. I think if we had a decent RWF, not only would we be more threatening from that side, it would also give Doku a much needed rest during matches.

He runs the least BY FAR on defense and he makes virtually no off ball runs. Tonight he made two and thats two more than his average. On defense he's literally hidden by the team setup. When the opposition defensive line starts the possession, he switches with the midfielder who goes up to press. Everybody covers for him on defense so he could do his thing on offense, and its still no off ball runs, and after two-three one on one sprints hes dragging his feet. Its just insane how poor his stamina is.

I wonder if that anecdote with Sadio Mane telling Doku to not listen to Klopp and not sign for Liverpool, continue development in Belgium was all orchestrated by Klopp. He told Mane to tell Doku this after he found out the truth about his lungs lol. Imagine Doku in gegenpressing, hed be dead by the 15th minute haha

His hold up play was excellent but he still holds the ball far too long and has zero end product. Some of the good positions he wasted were baffling, simple 5 yard passes were on and he just doesn't see it.

Yep. One time in particular descending from the byline there were like three players arriving in the box, it was the simplest pass there is, but its not a situation he finds himself in too common so he made the chop to the right and the opportunity was lost.

Talking shite mate.End product is there now and he’s creating chances most games. Very unlucky not to score in the last 2 games too.

This is an utter myth. He leads the world in completed dribbles and key passes.

Anyway, here is another player who teaches fans to be patient with player development. Nobody who arrives in their teens or early twenties, to a new league in a new country, is the finished article: they must be given time.

There is no player in world football who makes the right decision 100% of the time.
He is having a blinder of a season and is horrible for defenders to play against.
Well done Jeremy Doku...once again.

Starting to become easy to accept why Pep went with Doku over other options at LW.

And Doku is doing it consistently!

One of the most fouled players in the league yet never gets calls just like Haaland!
