When the kids are back from school we'll be going into the garden to recreate the moment, I will be Balotelli, the wife says she doesn't want to be Paddy Kenny but I will wear her down. I thought we might run down the other end of the garden and recreate the Stadium of Light moment too but the family are only prepared to play the Sunderland fans and I'm not putting a wig on so might have to bin that off.

Mrs Spires has made it very clear we won't be recreating the dozen calls she apparently received that started from mary d's and went on through the evening. This despite the fact that I seemingly explained that whilst i loved Kun a lot, on balance i still loved her more which to me sounds like a result for her.

Edit: maybe the club should have run a competition for best back garden / park recreation!

From the back of 117 to the front in 5 seconds under a pile of bodies, what a moment that was, my daughter was born 4 months later but still think it’s close.

Not sure if you’re being tongue in cheek or serious (I suspect serious) but I heartily concur.
literally at that point, a lifetime - 42 years in my case by that day - of unremitting, relentless and remorseless piss taking ended in that moment.
Thousands of texts to the effect of “how did City get on today haha” after each regular defeat.
Regularly being serenaded while out with “this is how it feels to be City..” etc.
Being the butt of a lifetimes worth of jokes.
And just the sheer inevitability each season that not only were we going to disappoint but that they were going to win something. Always always something.
Relegation - they win the title. Relegation - they win an fa cup.
Grown Men laughing and guffawing into my face as we struggled in the third tier.

All of that and so much more gone, up in smoke, never to return, in the flash of an instant as Sergio smashed that ball past paddy kenny.

Oh Sergio you beautiful little bastard, you did so much more than simply score a goal that won a title. You changed thousands of lives for the better. Not just for that day or that summer. Forever.

I love him. I just love him.
Bang on the money pal, and add the one of comments to the kids of why are you wearing that City shirt, City hat etc. Took the fucking piss out of us and looked down on us for decades, well they fucking don’t now, 31 points behind us, and we have a game in hand, and a 71 (that’s SEVENTY ONE) better goal difference

The day before my 19th birthday. Best day of my life before this was the United semi, but don't think the QPR day will ever be beaten now.

Miss Sergio so much, hopefully I'll get to meet him one day. Incredible footballer that will be talked about 200 years from now when other lads have taken our place.
