Laportes still been our best central defender all season, some of the shit he gets is laughable.

This shouldn't come as a shock but he's getting the blame because he was to blame. How are you blaming Dias & Rodri? We always play like that they arnt mystic Meg! They can't be expected to know Fernandinho is going to jump in and get skinned. Laporte watched Vinicious run a full half of the pitch and decided he would mark Zinchenko instead of close the space. As for the handball yes everybody knows your arms come up when you jump but not up above your head and then to head the ball off your own hand it's just an awful mistake.

Laporte has been our best centre half all season? Are you genuinely serious? He constantly makes mistakes and is the reason we lost at home to Palace he was poor vs Tottenham when we lost he's a mistake waiting to happen & it's happening regularly.

The only thing I can think of that makes any sense from his point of view is that there was a communication issue and he didn't know Zinchenko was covering the spare man so he didn't want to commit and give them an easy pass for a tap in. Not really sure I believe it but I do think there were a couple of times where the spacing between the two of them was completely off.

I agree and yeah there is plenty of blame for whole build up and goal.

But Laporte had time and should've looked to see where Zinchenko and Benzema were and then taken charge of the situation and not let him get into our box.

Reminded me of the goal by Fatty Shaw at our place. Just letting him run and run and run. I was thinking someone is surely doing to try and stop him at some point. No. Why do that. Even Ederson was stuck to his line. It was a horrendous goal to concede.

Just seen it on TV and he had time to see where Zinchenko was and take action, his indecision was inexcusable really.
But he wasn't the only at fault, where was Dias? and i thought Ederson could've done better too.

Oh well we won and will win next week.

We always play like that when we have Kyle walker, we didn't have Kyle walker tonight. laporte, or ake or dias, whoever plays on the left side, covers the left back in the same manner I suggested as they should because whoever our left back is, isn't Kyle walker, the same thing should have happened with our right back when it's not walker, perhaps even over compensating when we've got Fernandinho filling in there.

Dias shouldn't be on the right wing, go back and look specifically at where dias is, its shocking positioning, he's marking space on the right wing, there no reason at all for him to be there, it's a horrendous error and the main reason why there's a huge fucking gap where he should be, that's why they've scored that goal.

They might not be mystic Meg but defenders have to be pessimists, they should always be anticipating a fuck up and ready to cover.

Putting the primary blame on the left sided centre back because he's been left up shit creek due to the right back, right centre back and holding midfielder leaving the entire side vacant isn't correct in my eyes. It's clear laporte should have closed the ball, but it's not hard to see the shit situation he was left in, I'm guessing he's thinking Rodri can get back to narrow the angle and wants to cut off the simpler cutback finish and let vinicius take his chances from a narrower angle under some pressure, it's the wrong decision but it's a much lesser error than Dias who has so far received zero criticism whilst laporte been labelled shit, a liability and god knows what else.

Agreed mate. I'm not saying he didn't make an error in his decision making, he did, I was simply pointing out there were far bigger errors made prior to that and that's where the blame should be centred if people want to start throwing shit around after a semi final win. Some people would just rather direct attention towards something that fits their own biases than the reality. Dias is the culprit, laporte is his accomplice in that criminal bit of defending.
