No problem being proactive with signings

There is deffo need for an extra midfield signing, thw lack of legs has literally been one of if not the biggest issue we've had this year

Rodri (29)
Gundogan (34)
Bernardo (31)
Kovacic (31)
Nico (23)

By the time the window closes next window that's the age of our starting midfielders, maybe none leave this summer but one might, and then 2026 Gundo/Bernardo contract expires

Nico can play with Rodri but also may be his long term successor, we need a partner for him whether that's Reijnders or someone else

We need a new midfielder, even if that means this lad has to share a bit of time next summer for the midfielder Uncles to clear out
I would opt for Reijnders and there is no need for MGW.

He should have played Marmoush in at 10 seconds.

He’s gonna be some player for us though.

Yeah. It’s that type of simple forward pass we’ve missed so much this season. Rodri is a master at it (to Kev at Newcastle in 23/24 for his goal) - Kovacic does it too. Nobody else really.

Peculiar thing is that I doubt he'd have even got on the park against Bournemouth if Kovacic had not been sent off. The squad picked that night had all the hallmarks of Guardiola keeping de Bruyne on until the final minutes for his ovation and then Rodri coming on later. Kovacic upset those plans and had he not been suspended, I think he'd have got the nod yesterday at Fulham. Gonzalez needs a lot more football to get up to the pace and the rhythm in England, and he'll only get that by playing and starting League games. However, with Rodri returning and potentially two new midfield signings inbound, the competition for those minutes will be intense.

Decent 1st half. Faded in the 2nd half.

Hopefully another few more months working with Pep, and the World Club, and having Rodri by his side, will show us his real talent?

His ball for the first goal was great, something we hadnt done much of in the previous couple of games. Marauding full backs will help him. He could be the surprise of next season(if pep plays him)

Theres a very good player in there. Same as early Rodri, he needs to learn the pace of the league and improve his positioning so he's not covering too much ground but once he grasps that he'll be set.

Be good to see him given some responsibility in the CWC.

Needs to up his fitness levels though. Played well first half yesterday but - as in most games he’s played - he seemed to fade as the game went on and didn’t notice him on the pitch much second half.
