read a report earlier that there have been a reported 16 fights over at the euros so far, resulting in a total of 314 people treated for injury.

a quick calc would say thats an average of nearly 20 injured people per fight and thats not counting the ones that weren't injured...thats some big skirmishes

why has this not been reported, you can garauntee if this was england fans it would be all over the press

how many fights and injuries you got on a typical british friday/saturday night out?
is someone counting or it`s being counted only abroad? :)

That's not exactly relevant is it.

It isn't a friday night out is it. The two situations are markedly different. I think you need to think a bit more about that.
The only common factor is alcohol.

This event will be heavily scrutinized and your apparent discontent that hassle is being highlighted comes across as petty.

Maybe its just me, but apart from that small skirmish with the russians and the stewards, I've not seen much coverage of any trouble, and apart from the odd firework in the grounds it looks good natured, with fans mixed together and no trouble, but then I don't read our tabloids because they mostly print bullshit.

More importantly because there were a couple of programmes on TV here that said there was going to be trouble, our media hacks will be looking for it everywhere to say "told you so".

Our media have a hate of UEFA (some of it justified), and so are looking for anything to tar them with.

So far three days in, it all looks pretty friendly for the vast majority of people enjoying it, just as it should be.

I'm Polish and let me tell you, everything has been very good so far. The hundreds of thousands of people drinking will always lead to a few fights, but there has been nothing major. However, Poland vs Russian will be bad...it WILL kick off and could get ugly.

I`ve seen video showing Croats fighting between themselfes (Dinamo Zagreb vs. Hajduk) and then with police in Poznan today. And that wasn`t nice :/ But again, it doesn`t matter in which country tournament is played they would travel and cause troubles anywhere.
Nothing worth mentioning was caused by hosts and that`s what makes me happy and should stay this all the way!
Situation with russians is diffrent as media and both sets of fans is pumping tension and provocation is in the air. Mayor of Warsaw decison to allow them to march is being widely criticized. And either some fights may occur or all of this turn into rubbish and we all be laughing. But I would`t predict bloodbath as some suggested anyway. I think and I hope Russians will have enough common sense and won`t try communist shit on our streets.

there's some absolute nutters from eastern europe.

i worked with a polish guy once (good lad) and some of stories he told me were terrible.

platini won't care though as long as he gets paid.
